I'm getting so amped for the draft, FYI.
Looking at the draft and knowing that this is one of the deepest drafts in years I have been kicking around some ideas on how to get some extra picks.
1) Trade the #11 pick and the rights to Joel Freeland to the Houston Rockets for the #14 and #16 picks. Freeland is considered one of the best big men in Europe and Daryl Morey is a GM who respects the numbers.
2) Trade some assortment of Luke Babbitt, Nolan Smith, Kurt Thomas and $3 million to one of the teams with the last 5 picks in the first round. I could see Golden State biting at 30 or maybe the Thunder at 28.
This leaves us with the following picks (Edit: Not saying we need to keep all six picks. Maybe pool the second rounders with cash/players to move up further):
Players you would select with these modified picks?
I would draft as follows:
6: Damian Lillard (Thomas Robinson or MKG if they drop)
14: Terrence Ross
16: Perry Jones III or Moe Harkness
30: Kyle O'Quinn
40: Henry Sims or Miles Plumlee
41: Jae Crowder
