OK, I think it has been beaten to death the blazers draft history, specifically (except for the BROY, LA draft) our organizations uncanny ability to not take the best plaer available around the spot they are drafting )CP3, Kenneth Faried, Dejuan Blair etc....). However, I think what is more interesting is to see how the Clippers have drafted recently and who they coulda had instead. Gives me some promise tha if Olshey has some sway, maybe just maybe, if we keep the picks, we may get some value
2010- Al Farouq Aminue (8), Eric Bledsoe (18). Only guy they coulda gotten of worth, Gordon heyward and maybe Xavier Henry.
2009-Blake- THats easy
2008-Eric Gordon (7), Deandre Jordan (35)-Best player drafter later than Gordon were Hibbert (whom Jordan is quite good as a 2nd rounders) and our own Nicola at 24 which woulda been a leap at 7 for sure
2007-Al thornton (14)-Coulda done better here but not a bad player, options here included Stuckey at 15, aaron brooks at 26, Rudy at 24 and marc gasol at 48.
So in the end, I have some confidence that Olshey at least knows how to draft a good player and probably understands the value of a player. Whether he can convince the Vulcans is a different story
