Version of "rebuilding"

I'm not necessarily promoting this idea, just wanted to toss it around. What do y'all think about trading Aldridge for Eric Gordon (sign and trade) and the Hornets' pick (assuming it's 2-5). I really do like Aldridge, but this levels out the ages of our key pieces a bit and allows us to be a bit more creative with our (3!) lottery picks in that we don't have to base things on Aldridge's window. He's not old, of course, but if we were to build around Batum (23) and Gordon (23) plus three 19-20 year-olds, we could have a cheap, flexible, long-term contender.

This is also, of course, contingent on the Hornets being interested, but their new owner has made some noise about competing soon, and Aldridge could be part of a short-term turnaround for them. (They have tradeable assets and significant cap space but few young pieces to build around besides Gordon, who they risk losing anyways).

(My personal inclination would be to keep LA, but this is intriguing).
