Haynes: Blazers To Meet With Pacers GM David Morway

Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com reports that the Portland Trail Blazers have reached out to Indiana Pacers GM David Morway with further talks to come. -------------------------------- The Portland Trail Blazers have requested permission to speak with Indiana Pacers' General Manager, David Morway, about their open GM vacancy and consent was granted according to a source close to the situation. Morway – who has been with the Pacers for 12 years – and Trail Blazers' President Larry Miller are expected to meet in the next week or so. -------------------------------- Ken Berger of CBSSports.com reported in April that Pacers president Larry Bird is preparing to depart following this season. The Pacers have Morway and director of player personnel (and former Blazers GM) Kevin Pritchard in the fold as internal candidates to head up basketball operations. Former New York Knicks (and Pacers executive) Donnie Walsh has also been mentioned as a possible Bird successor. Update: Mike Wells of the Indianapolis Star reports that Morway will "likely" interview with the Blazers "some time next week." -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
