Blazers Broadcaster Snubs Chad Buchanan On Official Awards Ballot

Portland Trail Blazers broadcaster Mike Rice posted his official NBA awards ballot on Blazers.com and it appears he snubbed Blazers Acting GM Chad Buchanan, only voting him second in the NBA's Executive of the Year category. -------------------------------- Executive of the Year 1) Neil Olshey, LA Clippers 2) Chad Buchanan, Portland Trail Blazers 3) Masai Ujiri, Denver Nuggets -------------------------------- Can you really make the argument that trading for Chris Paul and making the playoffs was better than trading for Raymond Felton and missing the playoffs? Maybe Ujiri, San Antonio Spurs GM R.C. Buford, Utah Jazz GM Kevin O'Connor, Los Angeles Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak, Indiana Pacers GM David Morway and Oklahoma City Thunder GM Sam Presti will come to Portland after the playoffs to pick up some tips. Remarkably, Rice left both Nate McMillan and Kaleb Canales out of his Coach of the Year top-3. Jokes aside, I don't think a serious case can be made that Buchanan should be top-3 in the Northwest Division, let alone the NBA. SBNation.com's NBA site also put together an unofficial end-of-season awards ballot. No Blazers were recognized. Hat tip @LindsayMills -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
