Emilio Fernandez of La Opinion De Malaga writes that Joel Freeland, a first round pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, faces a July 10 deadline to decide whether he wants to buy out of his contract with Unicaja Malaga of the ACB league and come to the NBA for the 2012-13 season. The report also notes that Spanish power Regal Barcelona is also interested in Freeland should he opt not to come to the NBA. Freeland, 25, is regarded as one of the top big men in Europe.
