The Spurs currently only have 4 players signed past the next season. If they trade Parker (only taking back one year deals and/or draft picks) and sign Duncan to a one year deal, they could have a team salary under $20M for the summer of 2013 (of course this depends on how high they draft and the salaries of those draftees). They could potentially go after Dwight Howard and Chris Paul, then resign Ginobli w/ Bird rights.
Do you think this makes them a more likely trade partner with Portland, who can offer something like the NJ draft pick and a Euro or two (I would be fine letting Claver and Diebler go, but would prefer to keep Freeland). I know that most deals nowadays seem to involve more than two teams, so let me know how you think we can get Parker in Portland.
By the way, I would also try to buy/trade with whoever for the draft rights to Evan Fournier so we can have a true French Connection.
