Blazers G Jamal Crawford Interviewed On Hang Time Podcast

Portland Trail Blazers guard Jamal Crawford joined Sekou Smith and Lang Whitaker on NBA.com's Hang Time Podcast to break down the playoffs, run down his summer plans and to offer some thoughts on the 2011-2012 Blazers. Crawford said the Blazers fell victim to the expectations game a little bit after getting out to a hot start. ----------------------------------- "I honestly would have bet my last my dollar even before the season started [that we would have made the playoffs]. "I said that when we started off 7-2 and were No. 1 in the West, it was so surprising to me because six or seven of the new rotation guys haven't played together. To get off to such a start -- it was a shortened training camp, all these new guys, it's hard to get out to a good start. If we had started out .500 people would have been like, 'You know what, they lost Brandon Roy, Greg Oden is still hurt, all these new guys, we can expect that.' "But the fact that we started out 7-2 and opened everybody's eyes, it made the fall much more dramatic once we started losing. Then it became, 'They're under .500, what's going on?' and 'Now they're losing by 20 points, what's going on?' Now all these losses are piling up, things are so dramatic, something has to give at the trade deadline... I'm disappointed we're not in the playoffs, there's nothing like playoff basketball." ----------------------------------- Crawford also said that former Blazers guard Brandon Roy will play in his annual summer pro league in Seattle. He continued to say that an NBA comeback is not out of the question for Roy, who was released by the Blazers using the Amnesty Clause back in December. "I think there's definitely a chance," Crawford said. "It's just up to him and how he moves forward in the process, his knees, and whether there's treatments to be done." -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
