The Portland Trail Blazers took out a full-page ad in Sunday's edition of The Oregonian. The ad was printed on an all-black page with white lettering. At the top, the words "Rip City." At the bottom, the Blazers logo, website and Twitter account. In the middle, the following letter. ----------------------------------- A disappointing season may be over but our work has just begun. Not on the hardwood but in the office. Build a team that accepts every challenge and represents what Trail Blazers basketball is all about. Earn the passionate loyalty of the best fans in the NBA. Uphold a 42-year tradition that says when we stumble, we get up and make it better. The past is done. The present is here. The future is what we make of it. That's what trail blazing is all about. This summer we welcome new faces, rebuild around an All-Star and rediscover why we love this team. Together as a city, as Rip City. ----------------------------------- The word "rebuild" sure jumps out. Click here for full-size. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
