But the Blazers, who aren't going to make the playoffs and have just two games left before what promises to be a busy offseason, shouldn't be too worried about what Hickson can do for them the rest of the way this season. They should be thinking about what he can do for the franchise long-term.
Because in all the personnel moves that are sure to come before the 2012-13 campaign tips off, there's one thing the Blazers really ought to do -- re-sign Hickson. He'll be a restricted free agent at season's end, and although it's only been 17 games, the 23-year-old Hickson has done more than enough to warrant a return next season.
Best of all, he wants to come back. Hickson recently told Slam Online that he'd be happy to extend his stay in Portland.
