Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com reports that Portland Trail Blazers forward Shawne Williams does not plan to accept a buyout. ---------------------------------- "We talked about the possibility of a buyout, but we decided it just wouldn't make sense for us," Williams' agent Happy Walters told CSNNW.com. "Shawne is continuing to rehab right now and he's excited to be a Blazer." ---------------------------------- On March 19, Blazers Acting GM Chad Buchanan hinted that a buyout might not be in the future after initial reports indicated the team would pursue that path. ---------------------------------- "We're still open on Shawne," he said. "We're not necessarily committed to buying him out at this point. He has another three weeks on crutches, recovering from his foot injury. He can't do any rehab for another three weeks. We'll probably bring him in and help him with his rehab. Get to know him a little bit and make a decision at that point." ---------------------------------- Williams has a player option for $3.1 million next season according to StoryTellersContracts.com. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
