G Raymond Felton To Return To Blazers Starting Lineup

30
On Saturday night, I asked Portland Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan if he would consider a starting lineup change after watching his team give up 40 points in the first quarter. All he would say at the time was, "I'll look at the tape tonight. My thing is on this game tonight." After Sunday's practice, Mike Tokito of The Oregonian reports that point guard Raymond Felton may be moving back into the starting lineup. ---------------------------- "We talked about it, and he said definitely he was going to go back to that," Felton said of him starting. "So whenever he decides to do it, we’ll see." Felton said the change could come before Monday’s game, or going into the road trip. ... "Because I’ve been a starter my whole life, and it’s just one of those things where it’s something that you’re not comfortable with, a role that you’re not comfortable with." ---------------------------- Jamal Crawford said on Saturday that he feels comfortable in the starting position. But it's an odd fit. Portland is 1-3 since he moved into the starting spot, with the only win coming as a gift from the San Antonio Spurs before the All-Star break. Update (Monday): Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com reports that Felton will move back into the starting lineup on Monday afternoon. Matt Calkins of The Columbian reports McMillan's thought process. ---------------------------- "I thought Felton was pressing a few games ago before the break," McMillan said. "I wanted him to relax and stop pressing as much. With the break and a few games coming off the bench, hopefully he can settle down and play the type of basketball we need him to play. That is the group that we need to go with." ---------------------------- -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
