Stern throws us a bone for all of the drama we've been through these past few years, and our pick ends up being #3. The Nets pick ends up at #5.
With the third pick we take Bradley Beal, and plug him in at our starting shooting guard spot. We then trade the 5th pick, Wesley Matthews, and next years first rounder (top 5 protected), to the Celtics for Rajon Rondo and a 2nd round pick.
With our second round picks we take Jae Crowder, Robert Sacre, who both make the team.
We re-sign Batum, Hickson, Flynn, and Przybilla.
We also sign Omer Asik, and a backup SG.
Lineup:
Rondo/Smith/Flynn
Beal/Williams/FA
Batum/Crowder/Babbitt
Aldridge/Hickson/Thomas
Asik/Przybilla/Sacre
Aldridge, Beal, and Batum develop into a dynamic trio, with Rondo as the perfect complement both offensively and defensively. E.Will becomes a leading contender for sixth man of the year honors, and Crowder, Hickson and Sacre turn into our own version of the bash brothers, providing non-stop energy and hustle off the bench. After a year of developing together, they ultimately grow to be a younger version of the Celtics team that won the Championship. With Rondo playing the part of...Rondo, Beal the part of Ray Allen, Batum the part of Paul Pierce, and Aldridge the part of KG.
Rip City returns in all of its glory!!
