MacMahon: Mavericks Coach Rick Carlisle Not Talking Contract

53

A few days ago, John Canzano of The Oregonian wondered on Twitter whether former Portland Trail Blazers coach Rick Carlisle might be a target for the open head coaching job with the team after the 2011-2012 season. Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com reports that Carlisle, currently the head coach of the defending champion Dallas Mavericks, isn't talking about his contract or job. -------------------------------- "I’m not going to talk about my contract situation," Carlisle said Friday afternoon on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM’s Galloway and Company, staying consistent with his policy on the matter. "We’ve got games to win. We’ve got a locker room full of free agents and a bunch of guys that I have such great respect and gratitude for. Right now, we’re in a foxhole fighting for our lives. The coach talking about his contract situation is not appropriate." -------------------------------- -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
