It looks very likely that the Blazers will have two lottery picks this coming offseason, barring a drastic turn by either us or the Nets. The question is, what do we do with those picks? It seems to be the consensus that this is going to be a deep draft, the deepest in as long as a decade, according to some. Opportunities should be plentiful to draft a point guard, and a center/big guy, and that seems to be the popular option around BEdge. Another Option could be to trade one or both of our picks to either move up in the draft, or aqcuire a current star player.
With that in mind, in interviews today, Chad Buchannon kept mentioning the teams desire to aqcuire a "Star Guard" to accompany our "Star Forward" Aldridge. Of course that could mean many things, but to me at least, it sounded like the team is considering trading our picks for an established star player, which brings me to the title of this post.
Would you be willing to trade one (likely NJ's) or both of our Lottery Picks to the Washington Wizards for John Wall??? I don't know if they'd do it, but they just traded Javale McGee, who seemed to be one of their cornerstones, so who knows. Their motivation would be to (re)rebuild with 2 or 3 lottery picks and avoid having to pay up for Wall next summer. As far as the Blazers are concerned, a combination of Wall, Aldridge, Batum would be a fantastic and young team to build around. In my mind, Parker/Ginobli/Duncan and Billups/Prince/Wallace would be apt comparisons, and of course both trio's won title's.
What say you?
