I know even mentioning Canzano on Bedge tends to bring out a ton of hostility from some people. However, I wouldn't be referencing his piece if I didn't agree with his message. How about trying to read what he wrote and forgetting who wrote it?
Canzano is saying what a lot of us around here have been saying in recent months. Try not to kill the messenger-another common practice on Bedge. Check out some of the responses, as well. I'm increasingly finding the comparison between Allen's approach to the Seahawks and the Blazers to be fascinating. Maybe it all does come down to Allen feeling he knows enough about basketball to run the Blazers without a full and competent FO. Well, he's wrong about that. I don't know who Pete Carrol's equivalent in the basketball world would be. I'm no fan of Carrol, but right now I'd love to have someone like him on the Blazer bench. I doubt Allen would dare try to operate the Seahawks without a GM.
Canzano says the Allen seems dis-interested and may be leaning toward selling the team. I've been saying that for quite awhile here. Don't know, it's just a feeling, but a feeling that's getting stronger every day. Complete lack of communication and passion are not good signs in my book.
On the brighter side, the right kind of a new owner, if a sale actually takes place, could be a huge shot in the arm to this franchise and town.
