Teams fining players for blatent failure to deliver?

Should a franchise have the ablity to either file a request through the NBA for the ability to do so in each case, or simply force fines on their own players for costing the franchise and not living up to their contract

After watching Feltdown against Boston on Friday I became really upset at the idea that a player can just "stop caring" and "throw" a game because they have decided it's all a big joke (See the over the head, looking away from the basket attempt or his patented "5th row pass") I'm glad he has decided that making millions is a laughable matter. I want to make it clear I am not talking about every player with a bad day, or off game or who gets upset because of passion. I am specifically talking about players who don't try and laugh off their responsibility to their team

As a fan, it really sucks to see this sort of stuff happen. and it got me thinking about the idea that a Team should be able to recoup some losses (and send a message to the players this sort of behavior cannot be tolerated) as the player(s) is/are affecting the franchises bottom dollar and overall reputation (We all know Portland just finished digging that out of the mud)
