Clippers Ink Kenyon Martin

Via Daily News Los Angeles:

"The Clippers filled a glaring need in the frontcourt Friday by agreeing to a contract with veteran free agent power forward Kenyon Martin.

The one-year deal, believed to be worth the mini mid-level exception of $2.5 million, is pending Martin passing a physical."

definitely a good pickup for them

strengthens front court defense so deandre can keep jumping for every block

LAC certainly seems like a legit contender now

Amazing to think about how lucky LAC has been. First they benefited from Stern unfairly nixing the Paul to LAL trade. Then they land Chauncey for super cheap. And now they get Martin for far below market.

Martin addresses so many of their deficiencies: depth, defense, experience, and size. I hate to say it, because I hate all things LA, but if Martin pans out they’ll be a very legitimate contender.

still need a much better coach if they want to win a championship

but that will happen soon if Sterling is actually serious about this whole “actually winning” thing.

Yea, that's certainly true

I guess I was just looking at the roster. VDN is a sore spot for sure.

But we know coaches can get lucky in the playoffs sometimes. Consider Dunlevy’s playoff runs for us in the strike-shortened season of ‘98-’99 and the infamous ‘99-’00 campaign.
