I don't always root for an NBA franchise, but when I do, I prefer the Portland Trail Blazers.

Here's to hoping Aldridge has a great first half. He always seems to go flat after a good first half.
YES
I said the exact same thing in the first half thread. It’s mind-numbing. I see him gear up to shoot it and I dread the release 10 times more than I did when ’Dre did it in the past. And its hard to dread something that much. Hypertension.

yeah it crazy
It just seems like if you suck at something you’d practice it… not while playing the game. I understand the last second shot at the end of the shot clock, but he takes them when they’re totally unnecessary.
I think he figures he can't shoot 19% for an entire season.
They have to start dropping eventually, right? Right?

This is pathetic. It's the same thing every single road game. Aldridge stops playing, the team goes into melt down.
yep. It's twice as bad that we control almost the whole game each time
and then go into the death spiral near the end of the 3rd
No play for Elliot Williams
In the 2nd half. He was putting pressure on the ball and disrupting their offense. We did what we do every game – go to Aldridge. They double him and unless the rest are shooting well it’s toast. Also 3 failed fast breaks. What’s up with that?

hey i got a question for anyone who knows the answer
4 whatever reason i just remembered that we drafted a white guy, who i think was a shooting guard from ohio state, in this years draft. what happened to him? is he still on the team
lol, he's overseas for the year

we are now tied with Bucks and NO for road winning percentage
hovering just barely above 4 of the worst teams I’ve ever seen
OKC and Denver up next
here’s hoping the home game mojo is real and not luck
Well. That was disappointing. Probably a good thing SBN went down in the 4th qtr.
#52--------I believe in Greg Oden
And we're back... But we lost :/
But this was not so for Brandon Roy who listened to teammate Nicolas Batum, "You're an All-Star, a 3-time All-Star. Take the ball. They can't stop you. You just have to believe in yourself."

bummer finish
we dont have good luck in sac. heck we dont have good luck in anyones house this year! HEHE. But for some reason, im not all that upset by this loss. It seems like we tanked out in the fourth.

Guard play.
Guard play, guard play, guard play.
Our three main back court players combined to shoot 17-46 (36.9%) and 3-16 (18.7%) from three point range.
I’m starting to wonder, when is one of our losses ever not a result of our piss poor guards?
yep bigs combined for like 22 of 40 shooting
our guards are just terrible. It’s like trying to drag an anchor to the playoffs
Which to me, begs another question:
Why do we have the two guys shooting 38% and 27% on the season taking the most shots on the team (outside LMA)? It boggles my mind that Gerald Wallace can play FORTY MINUTES and only shoot the ball 7 times when he is a far more efficient scorer than EITHER Felton or Crawford.
Seriously, Nate needs to get this team’s priorities in order.
it gets real tough for guys like Wallace when guards aren't making shots
Gerald needs to be moving towards the rim for layups. He’s not very effective posting guys up when they have help. Can’t move towards the rim with 3.5 guys standing there. Aldridge does it but that’s all we got.
Our spacing is just terrible.
and they are so bad around the rim
Those two 2 v 1 fastbreaks in the last three to four minutes were pathetic. Wesley getting blocked by Isiah Thomas Jr.? Seriously? Then the Jamal wait too long to pass ‘cause I’m not sure Ray can jump over Thorton play. Those four points would have made a big difference on the end of the game.
I’m resigned to the Blazers just being a middling team. That is what they are. Usually good at home and bad on the road. And usually not good at closing out games. I expect the Thunder to want revenge so I think that game will be one to watch: can the Blazers resist the push.
put a body on 'em
Ray finally had what Id call a good game
he was hitting layups driving and he dished 10 ast
by cavejunctionblazer on Feb 2, 2012 10:33 PM PST reply actions
although he still cant shoot a 3 to save his soul right now
by cavejunctionblazer on Feb 2, 2012 10:33 PM PST up reply actions
and that's what sinks our boat unfortunately
we need more than just guards making the occasional layup or we’re doomed
Wallace needs good spacing to really be effective
we’re pretty much wrapping him in chains in these kind of games. We’re lucky LMA can somehow get stuff done or we’d get decimated bricking jumpshots all night.
Ray finally had a good game, except for the wide open 3 he missed to force overtime.
Even though I’ve criticized him all year, I sincerely felt bad for him on the shot. It might have changed his shooting for games to come if he had made it. Instead he ends up 1-7 from the 3 pt line and misses the tying shot, which won’t help his confidence.

yeah it's unfortunate
it looked like he was finally starting to turn the corner. I’m still wondering if he’s hitting a wall with conditioning.
I can mark 6 losses this month on my calender: at Sac (today), @ NO, @ Dal, @GS, @ LAL, and @ Den...If we cant beat SAC, there's no way we can beat the other teams....
We are missing one more piece….all top teams got at least two: OKC- Durant and Westbrook, LAC- Griffin and Paul, MIA- you-know-who, CHI- Rose and Defense, LAL- Kobe and Bynum
I hope Timmay! doesn't think he's going to get out of doing a post-game thread.
Timmay! Wake up!!!
#52--------I believe in Greg Oden
He broke his TV after the last blown 2-on-1 fast break. He doesn't know who won.
