Canzano's column caused me to research how compressed the schedule is after the All-Star Break. In 2011, the Blazers had 22 games over 44 days starting March 1. This year, they will play 31 games over 57 days. The season will last two more weeks into April because of the lockout. If the games were coming up at the same pace this year, there would be 28.5 this spring. So the Blazers are cramming an extra 2.5 games into this time period. It doesn't feel like a huge burden but it is one more trip, two fewer days off. I am hoping the quality of play improves after players get a chance to rest over the break. The quality of play in the Clippers game was poor on both sides, but I felt teh Blazers did well considering Aldrich was out.
