The city of Seattle is working with investor Chris Hansen to produce a plan for a multi-sport arena that could help land an NBA team to replace the Seattle SuperSonics, who left for Oklahoma City in 2008. Anitachampionship has a link with further details in the FanShots. John Boyle of the Everett Herald reports that Portland Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen has released a statement regarding the effort to return an NBA team to Seattle through his NFL team, the Seattle Seahawks. ------------------------------- "It was a sad day when the Sonics left Seattle, a move I opposed. It’s exciting to think about the NBA coming back to Seattle and renewing the rivalry with the Portland Trail Blazers. However, it is too early for me to comment any further without a specific plan or proposal to review." ------------------------------- Hat tip: SBNation Seattle -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
