Trade Oden For Humphries
Good column about the Blazers trading Greg Oden for Kris Humphries. Yes, sounds crazy, but the explanation makes it sound reasonable. Reminds me of when we traded Bowie for Buck Williams. How did that turn out?

Not only that, but so can Kris Humphries.
Both players have no-trade clauses due to their impending Bird rights.
Additionally, the finances don’t line up with Humphries at $8 million and Greg Oden at $1.5 million.
Yet, regardless of those bookkeeping matters, New Jersey wouldn’t do such a deal for a myriad of reasons.
From the Nets’ end, it makes zero sense whatsoever.
I was of the understanding that the QO for GO stayed the same but we payed him a different amount because of the new news and insurance covered the rest. My understanding was flawed then, yes?

Trading Oden for a mediocre big body would probably be a good idea
I’m not sure if Humphries is mediocre enough, though. I suspect there are very few GMs in the league who are willing to take a chance on Oden. Oden has the reputation of a man whose joints are made of paper mache and whose tendons and ligaments are made of silly putty. Any GM who trades for him is going to have a lot of splainin to do.
Ok I changed my signature. Do you like it better now?
Greg Oden has no trade value.
None, nada, nil … zero, zip, & zilch.
For the remainder of this season, Oden will sit it out quietly with Portland. Then, if he chooses to continue his NBA career next fall, he’ll probably go back to the Rust Belt region for an under-the-radar team like Cleveland.
In Ohio, Oden could return to a place where he had past success and, more importantly, he wouldn’t face the obscene expectations that Portland fans would hoist upon him commencing his return. For the Cavaliers, it’d be a low-risk/high-reward gamble—especially if Oden came at a reduced cost.
At least that’s my current projection.
a safe bet

lol "Good column"
I like how the person who wrote the column is also the one calling it a good column. Oregonsportsnews, if you want to be taken seriously as a sports blogger you need to make sure you have your facts straight when you write a column. First of all Oden for Humphries cant been done staright up as has been discussed already (something you should of known before you decied to right the article), and you also have several other mistakes like syaing a reason we didnt draft Durant was becasue we already had Batum showing promise, well Batum wasnt on the team at that point he was drafted a YEAR later.

haha
oden, humphries swap is not even possible, salary does not match.
Wait.... I think I'm on to something here
Maybe we can package John Canzano and Greg Oden for some new sports writers.
In all seriousness I wouldn’t trade Greg Oden until we have seen him on the floor for some real action.

in all seriousness
do you actually think Oden is ever going to see some time on the floor? If you think he will see some time on the floor, how much of it do you think he will spend doing something other than clutching at his knees in agony?
