I don't have any suggestions off the top of my head it is just that my sidebar is clogged by like 6 Separate trade posts. I am not sure why, I suspect that people like to have their own private area, so anyways I just put this up so anybody with trade Ideas can put up a few hundred Ideas and whoever wants to argue with them about how foolish their suggestion is can go ahead too!

we need a new point guard
why they do it?
Babby is a once in a lifetime talent whose ceiling is above Michael Jordan and at worst he is George Gervin 2.2

No

You don’t trade Babbitt unless it’s for a superstar or a Carmelo situation. Not sure John Wall qualifies.

right.

it’s superstar Jeremy Lin or no one!

Babbitt Deal

Here is an example of a trade I might consider (doesn’t work on Trade Machine because Noah can’t be traded until March 1st)

Chicago gets: Babbitt, Wallace, Felton, Camby

Portland gets: Rose, Deng, Noah, 2 first round picks.

While it’d suck to see Luke go, it may be worth it. Rose and Aldridge would be a good duo, with Deng as the perimeter stopper/wing scorer, and Noah cleaning up the messes. The picks are kinda the tie-breaker here.

It may come back to bite us, but a shot at the reigning MVP is tempting…

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

this just might happen…… NOT!!! maybe if we threw aldridge in

Oh I'm sure he is

Someone needs to step in for Blake and Love at Lockout Professionals when the season started. Basketball may be playing, but old men still need flies squashed.

by Batumshakalaka on Feb 13, 2012 4:49 PM PST up reply actions

trade idea

blazers get steve nash and marcin gortat.

suns get raymond felton, marcus camby, 1st round pick, cash, and nolan smith or elliott williams if necessary.

I think it helps both teams. blazers get a hall of fame pg who can do everything this team needs that felton isn’t doing well right now such as shooting and throwing oops to lamarcus. also get a center who is locked up for 3 years at an affordable price with a per over 20 and with more offensive game than camby. this trade gives the blazers a chance to compete in the playoffs this year and nash still comes off the cap for 11 mill.

suns need to rebuild with nash’s career winding down, suns get an additional 7 mill coming off the cap by getting rid of gortat, a young player on a rookie deal if they want it because the trade works with or without that extra player involved, as well as getting a 1st round pick and sucking the rest of the year and getting a good draft position with their own pick, putting them in good position to rebuild through the draft and free agency.

That is very nice

Phoenix is always ready to trade their core for 3mil and a pick
Really they do

La Illaha Illallah Muhamadur Rasulallah

by AbuFatimah on Feb 13, 2012 9:51 AM PST up reply actions

I could see a Nash/Lopez deal

but Phoenix is not giving up Gortat at this point. He is the only youngish player that has any ability.
Nash is old and that may make him available, but unless you are giving them LA they are not giving you Gortat.

I’d say Nash/Lopez for Felton/Smith/Willams/Babbit. I don’t know if phoenix would do it, but that is a starting pg (albeit having a horrible year) and 3 young first rounders. Throw in a future draft pick or the the rights to Claver.
Phoenix would probably ask for Felton/Batum/Freeland/filler but that is too much.

Use this year’s pick on a young pg to grow behind Nash, drop Nate off at the nearest curb and cross your fingers.

yeah but he's much more valuable than Lopez

yeah thats a tough sell but I would double down and offer Wes and Felton + our pick for Nash and Gortat

It pushes us into championship contention

They go into full tank mode and get a shot at a top 3 pick and are still in position to grab a young point with our pick . And the cap space to chase some big free agents

Frye * anthony davis * andre drummond
Morris
harrison barnes
Wes
*Marquis teague ,
Tony Wroten, *Kendall Marshall etc

we look like

Camby/Gortat

Crash/Batum
Batum/Crawford
Nash/Crawford

Oakland would do the one for Ellis in a heartbeat

I’m not so sure that Utah is going to quit on Kanter after 2 months
They would likely throw in Milsap to any team willing to take Jefferson’s bloated contract
They really feel like they got scammed in that trade from Minneapolis

the "people" in Utah can talk about him all they want

the fact is he was the #3 pick in THIS draft. He is a rookie and has shown no signs that he won’t be what they thought he would.

Fans don’t make these decisions and their front office isn’t looking to unload a guy who was just the #3 pick.

you guys are kidding right?

an expensive, injury prone, exiting the prime of his career SF is worth a top 3 pick? Top 3 picks are supposed to be franchise changers, and they are cheap because they are on rookie contracts.

The reason we see so many unrealistic trade proposals on this site, no offense, is because we think things like Gerald Wallace alone is worth a top 3 pick.

If Gerald Wallace was worth a top 3 pick, we would start Batum and trade Wallace for a top 3 pick. That’s simply not the case.

Not only is Wallace not as valuable as Kanter, I don’t think he’s even close to enough.

"If I had a dime for every basket I made today, you'd still suck!" - from the book 'John Dies @ the End'

by sammymohawk on Feb 13, 2012 1:28 PM PST up reply actions

Last years draft wasn't filled with great talent that could help day one

Wallace could. Also it was rumor the the Blazers almost got four first rounders for Wallace at the beginning of the season

by Daddygr33nJeans on Feb 13, 2012 2:31 PM PST up reply actions

From New Jersey

in a trade to net them DH12. Pardon the pun. DH plus DW means those picks wouldn’t be worth much. The fact is, a top-3 pick last year is worth 3 late-rounders at least. Kanter is likely worth as much as John Wall right now. Wall has struggled, Kanter is Utah’s second highest value contract as a big man. They want to make room for him, not trade him.

by avalancheman on Feb 13, 2012 2:47 PM PST up reply actions

why would the Jazz trade a very promising young center

on a rookie contract for Gerald Wallace?

Why would a team trade a top 3 draft pick who could turn out to be a superstar for a solidly good player who is far more expensive and exiting his prime?

In the NBA one good player in hand is not worth a superstar in the bush. The Blazers would unload Gerald for a top 3 pick in the coming draft so quick it would make all of our heads spin. When that’s the case, it usually means bad deal for the other side.

Trading Gerald for a top 3 pick is a dream scenario for the Blazers, which unfortunately means that it’s not realistic

nice.

I would take just about anyone as a top-3 pick on an awesome rookie contract rather than pay Gerald $9million when we’re paying Batum like $2 for a similar-enough skill-set (obviously, not identical).

I’d especially trade him for a top-3 big, as these guys have been team-changers when they’re good as of late (just look at Cousins and Monroe)

Favors and Kanter is more likely

Favors is already playing really well, and millsap is 27. But if they trade Millsap, they’re expecting young, all-star players or top ten draft picks in return.

I'd try and keep Millsap as my spearhead and have Favors as your 3rd big

Ellis for Crash

would be a done deal… Ellis is so overrated by fans its not funny. He’s a volume scorer, that’s it. He’s a small version of Melo that lacks the potential on defense, and lacks even what consistency Melo can bring. No thanks, we can do better for crash. Kanter will not be had this season barring Dwight Howard signing an extension in Utah, or a trade for Chandler, Bogut, Aldridge… you know, a true franchise star or game-changing center starting his prime.

Wesley Matthews. They have no one at the 2 spot besides the injured Eric Gordon & We$ would be an upgrade over any other 2’s on the roster. Could allow them to experiment with Gordon at the 1.

Blazers get:
Emeka Okefor. Taking Okefor off the books has been a desired move by them for awhile now & we just so happen to need a starting center.
Hornets 2012 1st round pick from the T-Wolves. Currently projected #12 overall, which would put us in the range for Terrence Ross to replace We$

A PG who is going into his prime, playing fairly well with good APG and PPG. But his FG% is a bit shaky… but knowing what we have now, it’s “acceptable”

And in return N.O. gets Camby w/ an expiring contract.
Cleveland gets a SG, who by looking at their roster could be considered an upgrade, and a PG who may or may not could be a decent back up.

Still a borderline playoff roster

with no chance of a second round berth. You underestimate Stephen Jackson, who wants out of Milwaukee so bad he’d be starting for us and doing damage.

by avalancheman on Feb 13, 2012 7:37 PM PST up reply actions

oh and...

a lot of LMA playing the 5 – which would worry me too much honestly, with Nate trying to run him into the ground as is.

by avalancheman on Feb 13, 2012 7:38 PM PST up reply actions

Its a borderline playoff roster

but it preps us for an awesome future with the acquiring of all those 1st round picks. I’d personally draft Terrence Ross, Terrence Jones, Mike Moser & Jared Cunningham.

Also another advantage of having all those picks...

Is the fact that we can package them up to move up in the draft to get the guy we really really want.

I think Beasley would be a great fit at the 4 next to Aldridge.

Beasley is 6’10" and an absolute stud on offense. The thought of Beasley tearing up second units makes me salivate. He would be perfect as the first big off the bench. I believe a scoring big off the bench is one of keys to a championship roster.

Mo Williams

What about a swap to get Williams for pg. he can’t shoot the 3 and distributes well. This trade would put clips over the top. La gets a pg to make a run this year and open up cap space. We get to try another pg to finally figure out Nate can’t coach. At least we force him to play batum and get some three point shooting.

This trade would make us title contenders

If we can somehow get a starting-caliber center too.

That is a very good and realistic trade

we would not have to give up Matthews to get Ellis so maybe you could use him to get the center you want

they are trying to dump everything they can before they pack up for Seattle

I don't think it's enough for the Celtics

Ya you are probably

It provides lots of salary relief, and they get Batum, but I highly doubt they move Rondo at all.

Three way with Rockets and Lakers

Rockets get: Gasol, Crawford, Johnson
Lakers get: Scola, Wallace, Felton, Thabeet
Blazers get: Martin, Blake, Dragic, Budinger

I am interested to hear thoughts here, I am intrigued. Lakers get much needed upgrades at point guard and small forward, while getting a smaller downgrade at power forward.

Rockets get their man in Gasol for a slightly different package than before (Thabeet, included purely for salary, and Budinger, rather than NY’s 2012 first round pick) and the bonus of picking up Crawford as a sixth-man.

Portland gets a potential PGOTF in Dragic, and his backup in Blake. We get a high-scoring guard that we sorely need in Martin, and resolve the small forward issue by sending out Wallace and bringing in Budinger as Batum’s backup. Overall, we also improve our shooting quite a bit.

A downside for us is that it would kill our potential cap-space next season, while still leaving a question mark at center and maybe point guard.

Seems like a win-win-win though to me…

by AJB2 on Feb 14, 2012 2:09 PM PST reply actions

If we are giving all that up

I would rather have Gasol!
PS- Dradic is not PGOTF
he is euro bum whose 15 minutes was 2 years ago

Interesting

I don’t like the thought of the Lakers getting better though… I really am intrigued by acquiring Kevin Martin. He doesn’t play great D but the guy can really shoot the ball and has averaged over 20 points a game multiple times. We need to lighten the load for LA and have another consistent scorer on the wing night in and night out.

by T*Stroyer on Feb 14, 2012 4:11 PM PST reply actions

I prefer Ellis

Better player all around but Martin is an upgrade over We$$
