The real problem with Felton
Felton's failure to secure the starting spot as the PGotF becomes a huge problem for the long term development of this team as a championship contender. The team already has big questions at the 5. The upcoming draft and FA provides some decent options at the 5 spot (at least the back-up 5 spot) but now the team will have to solve the 1 and the 5.
Even with Matthews struggles this season, the 2-4 spots seem OK. I don't see Wallace getting any huge contract offers and Batum's production has earned him a matching offer (as long as it isn't over 10 mil.) Between Matthews, Williams, & Smith the team should be able to figure out the 2 and don't forget that Batum can see spot duty there as well. If they can grab Freeland, the 4 hole should be solid for the next several years.
So we are left with a team that has 2 glaring needs. A point (still, after all these years) and a starting 5. The options are slim.
There are few 5s coming up in FA and the ones who will be available will be drastically overpaid. Going after those guys puts the team in a tough spot trying to keep the group of wings and forwards together. The draft doesn't offer a real solution either, there are guys available who have the size, but few are defensive minded rebounders that would fit so well with LA.

As for the point, the draft has some interesting pieces, but no surefire hits, and FA...Brooks might be an answer...but he is not THE answer

brooks would be awesome
Ruben Boumtje-Boumtje, Vladimir Stepania, Ha(ha you suck) Seung Jin, Travis Diener and Erick Barkley
Brooks would be more of the same
But shorter!
I know less than half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

So what is the real problem with Felton?
Assuming you were referring to PGotF, that is a problem with the franchise, not Felton. I am not sure Brooks is the answer at the 1 but he deserves a rent just as much as Felton. The small forward spot could easily becoming a glaring hole on this squad next year depending how amicable Batum and Wallace are feeling toward the Blazers.
As far as a starting big, if not resigned in PHX, Robin Lopez fits our needs the best—that Brian Grant role to LMA’s similar to ‘Sheed style. Hibbert would be a great pickup but I doubt he will be ready for our taking. I also like Hickson’s game as well—and I could easily see Sacto not resigning him

the Nets will not keep Brooks they are going after Howard
pay brooks 8-9 mill would be a steal. don’t give Wallace over 10mill. also last night i was thinking about who was the last starting PG on the Blazers that could consistently make a 3, does anyone have a name because I have no idea.

Aaron Brooks—not Brook Lopez. We don’t want that Lopez—we don’t want a 5 that is a mediocre rebounder

The problem is
he’s over weight… the system doesn’t complement his style… that’s the problem with the nba these days… they would rather get stars and not role players.. last time i checked a team wins championships usually with one star… we have that star La now put role players who actually know how to be role players and constantly do there jobs…Camby knows just like Pryz they are there to get rebounds and guard the paint… Now if batum would get some motivation to be a forward that can make a difference you see glimars of it but then he just sizzles out… He could be the guy when La is having a off night can will his way to being the LA when Roy was around… Jamal was a impulsive buy… we had just lost Roy and we needed to fill that loss with something that we thought looked like a roy…. now we have a washed up sg who’s glory days are behind him…. and now we are trying to over compensate for felton who can’t seem to play in Nate’s garbage system.
For the point,
How do you guys feel about signing a stopgap such as Kidd, Sessions, Farmer, or even Nash and drafting Kendall Marshall? I know we have had horrible luck drafting tons of points, but he’s one of the purest points in quite a while, and 6’4 as well. his 3 pt shot is bad, but not Miller/Felton(currently) bad. He would be great working with LMA, as well as Wes, Batum and Walace. Seems like a Rubio type player actually.

Brilliant! (minus the sessions-farmer bit)
A really good idea! Offensively Kidd/Nash is a perfect fit – pure points that can create and shoot the ball- and you can hide them on defense due to the glut of defensive wings (Williams, Matthews, Batum, Wallace).
The only problem seems to be that Kidd is close to retirement and if Dallas doesn’t get DWill would they let Kidd go somewhere else…or would he just retire, at 38 is he interested in starting over with a new team.
Nash is a similar story, he is really ALL Phoenix has right now, would they let him go…would he retire.
Still, this is the best idea I have heard for a while. The blazers are full of guys who can score, but not quite create their own shot. They need a pg in the worst way. Marshall is a stud of a pg and his shooting has come and gone. For that matter there are a few guys to keep an eye on – Machado, Teague, Lillard, even Wroten-

so
Felton is Playing like Steve Blake…his fault or Nate’s?

Finally
People are catching on to Nate. He is so unorganized with no real plan. What exactly is Nate trying to do this season? What is his system? No wonder quality players look terrible when they first come here. Miller was too strong a personality to bend to Nates bizarre coaching and now he’s gone. Nate pushed him put. I actually think Felton can be a value, but not under Nate.
