The Blazers are in a very unique situation. While the draft this year has very much talent I do not think that this should be the source of our new talent acquisition. We need a series of trades and free agents to make the Blazers one of the most dominating teams in the NBA. In determining our need we must analyze our current team. These are the following players that I think we need to hold on to.
Luke Babbitt (Only if he is cheap)
Now our obvious need is a second point guard, a center (although JJ has been doing fantastic as of lately), and a SG/SF wing player.
Now I would suggest that we trade to get our PG. I looked over the ideal point guards and a player from our past came to mind, Andre Miller. Now I know Denver does not need any of our current roster players so we would need a 3 team trade. Something like this:
Now we have about 16 million to spend on some free agents during the off season. Let us take a look at the center position first. I would say the best fit for our team would be Robin Lopez, he is only 24 and fits in with our teams age. This would leave us some room to get our SG/SF. The ideal situation would be J.J. Redick. Now here is our team going into 2013-2014.
What do you guys think?
