The Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 103-95, at the Rose Garden on Friday night, improving their record to 6-6.
Blazers guard Wesley Matthews led the way with a season-high 30 points on 12-for-17 shooting, including 5-for-6 from deep. Rookie guard Damian Lillard added a career-high 28 points on 11-for-17 shooting plus eight assists against zero turnovers. J.J. Hickson had 14 points and 13 rebounds.
The Timberwolves were led by 24 points and 13 rebounds from forward Kevin Love. Center Nikola Pekovic added 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge battled foul trouble throughout the second half and finished with 13 points on 6-for-13 shooting and six rebounds in 28 minutes.
The Blazers won despite shooting 8-for-18 from the free throw line.
Minnesota shot just 5-for-21 from the field in the fourth quarter.
