Where is Brandon Roy
Sorry I may be behind with the news, but where is Brandon Roy these days since his planned retirement? I went to the fan-1 fest and the season-opener thinking he may appear and say something to the fans, nothing. Is there any plans of him appearing and saying goodbye or something for the fans? Also what is he officially listed as, is he still a unrestricted free agent, but who would want him play?

He's here:

Enjoying the quiet life with his family, looking at going back to school for some communications classes (translation: We could see him on a network in the future). He’s technically a free agent because he went through the amnesty process without any bids for his service, which is unsurprising. He’s basically retired, though I don’t know if he sent in official paperwork.
I think when he’s had some time off, and is up for it, we’ll see him in Portland again for some public appearances.

yep
Brandon’s not one of those guys who just can’t leave the spotlight – probably just the opposite. He has always absolutely disappeared in the summers. You knew when he hung up the sneakers, he would do the same thing.
Add in how difficult it must be for him to adjust to life without basketball a decade before he probably ever planned, with lots of unfulfilled dreams on the hardwoood. Give him time and space for now. When he’s ready, he’ll come back to say hello, and do it the right way.

He's in a great place to avoid NBA basketball...Seattle.

I know he's been amnestied (is that even a word???)
and I know he says the pain of leaving the game is too much right now… But Portland are still paying him, it’d be nice to see him on the sidelines even as a mentor to help push Portland to a championship. I mean, he was talented, but beyond that he was driven to be the best, it’d be nice for some more of that to rub off on the other Blazers.
I can't tell if you're being critical of BRoy or not
Hoping I read that wrong.
