Blazers Review Photo Of Greg Oden With Shirtless 6-Foot-7 Woman, Decide To "No Comment"
On Monday, a spokesperson for the Portland Trail Blazers reviewed a not safe for work photograph that apparently shows center Greg Oden standing next to a 6-foot-7 woman who is not wearing a shirt. After reviewing the photograph, which has circulated on numerous sports and gossip websites over the last two weeks, the spokesperson said the team has decided not to comment. Blazers Acting GM Chad Buchanan also declined comment.
BustedCoverage.com noted (NSFW) that well-known singer/songwriter Teyana Taylor posted the photo of herself with Oden and a 6-foot-7 actress who goes by the name Amazon Ashley Adair to her Twitter account on Jan. 15. The image included the explanation: "The two tallest ppl I know that makes me look only two feet tall."
Taylor also posted an image of the trio that showed Oden looking sideways at Adair. Taylor captioned that one: "Fix ya face son!!!"
Pro-tip: Do not do an online search for Adair if your company tracks that sort of thing.
Oden has not been made available to the Portland media this season while he continues to rehabilitate from a knee injury.

My theory on how this got on the Bedge Report
Ben was caught by his lady friend looking at the pictures, he quickly explained it away as “work related”. This post is just c over for Ben’s African-American Amazon fetish, for which he attends AAAA.

When i saw "Greg Oden" in the title i got a little excited, as in maybe some news.
Only fooling myself..
"Tommy: Did you hear I finally graduated?
Richard Hayden: Yeah, and just a shade under a decade too. All right. "
Wow...I wonder how many other ballers have tapped this
Oden (who looks absolutely wasted) and Noah (who looks totally stoned). This is quite the story…
What the hell? How'd I end up on Blazington Post?
If this were a fanshot, it’d get maybe 15 comments and a rec from a 14 year old boy who’s obsessed with boobies.
But it’s a front page headline, apparently. What’s CBSSports done to you, Ben?
Phase 1: Collect underpants
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!
Well, it basically WAS a fanshot.
What we basically witnessed was Ben seeing a link to this pic in the sidebar and then dropping it in the FO’s lap for reaction shots. It’s been around for a couple weeks now and he’s flogging this into being a story. He doesn’t even call out the person who originally linked it here.
I come to BE to get away from stuff like this. Color me dissapointed.
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice they're not.

Why don't we have a separate drawer for Ben and J. Quick drama posts?
Then the front page could be reserved for Blazer related stories…
Greg looks pretty skeeved out about the whole affair.

Oh wait…
"Hey! If the moon were made of ribs, wouldja eat it? I know I would!"
Will there ever be a day when Oden makes the news for something he does on the basketball court vs off the court?
At this point I highly doubt that we will ever see this guy in a Blazer’s uniform again.
I never felt that way before to day

While transphobia is fun.
It still is, infact, transphobia and dehumanizing someone who may be in one of the most marginalized groups in the world. In addition, no one here knows if she is trans* and you could just be being sexist.
Neither are a good look.

Yes, calling out problematic comments
that dehumanize, demonize, and try to make women and trans* people feel less is trying to start an argument.
It couldn’t possibly be that you are doing something wrong and cruel.
by TSE on Jan 31, 2012 11:01 PM PST up reply actions 2 recs
Religion has nothing to do
with acting like a decent human being. You are free to disagree with someone or hold different beliefs. This does not mean you have to go around making comments that a woman isn’t woman enough because she doesn’t adhere or look like what you see on magazines. You do not have to make comments that dehumanize trans* people.
Falling back on a “our religion is different” is an excuse. This isn’t about religion, this is about expressing insults and slurs – “woman” in question marks and the transphobic comment of tranny is not found in religious books.
by TSE on Jan 31, 2012 11:15 PM PST up reply actions 3 recs
What does religion have to do with it?
I agree with TSE, religion doesn’t protect an individual if he makes ignorant or hurtful statements.
I go bump in the night.

surely one of such apparent wisdom and morality,
such as yourself, could be bothered to patiently share the depth of your understanding with ignorant fellow humans, that they, too, may one day experience even a sliver of your magnificent insight?

I'm typing this here because I became jealous of everyone else with signatures in their posts.
If Canzano had talked about this or posted this, there would be outrage here.

True, people would jump on John Canzano if he touched on this photo of Greg Oden having a good time.
At the same time, though, that overreaction helps Canzano from a marketing standpoint, which works to his advantage.

Two old songs come to mind
“Island Girl” by Elton John
and this line from Jim Croce’s Bad, Bad LeRoy Brown “all the downtown ladies call him tree-top lover”
Sabonis used to treat the fillies from the Russian basketball team as his personal harem, back in the day
When reached 40+ years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
