Actually, that IS pretty bad
When I saw the title of the post I was skeptical, because I’ve seen quite a few airballs over the years (I’m looking at you, Shaq). But wow, I think that ball was at least 2 feet short of the rim.

it could have been worse...
at least it didn’t bounce hard off the rim, sail the length of the court, and land in the other team’s basket.

I remember my favorite bad free throw
Dale Davis with his heavily taped right broken pinky, it was like two inches thick. It caused the ball to miss badly to the left. I remember the whole team was laughing.
