"Gave Gerald Wallace this quilt today," wrote Brittany Davidson, Team Relations Manager for the Portland Trail Blazers, on Saturday. "Sweet fan has been sewing it for him since last Spring, as she listens to games."
Too sick. Perfect for another long night of tossing and crashing.
The Blazers held a meet and greet with season ticket holders on Saturday.

Great to do the community thing but...
The Blazers need to get in the practice facility not play patty cakes with the fans at this point. Sorry to be a downer but that just the way i see it. Management has got to sell those tickets.
Yeah Mean...
that poor sweet lady has been sewing that quilt since Spring. She has put more work into that quilt than Larry Miller has into the Blazer GM search.
That quilt is just cool.
"Mother Nature started this fight, I think it's about time we ended it!"
A day off at this point probably does more good than practice
All work and no play makes Gerald a very dull boy….

i was there for the meet and greet
and so happy a friend brought me. It was amazing the candid access they allow the fans to have with the players.. and the enthusiasm on every1’s faces can only help their game when they know who they’re playing for and getting paid by.

I was there too - it was fun except for their stupid and inconsistent "autograph policy"
dumbest thing ever. there are 2 things people want when they meet an athlete to commemorate it – pictures and autographs. Each of the players was spread across the concourse, and there was literally a line at every player for people to take pictures or get something signed. I went up to Craig Smith – and a rep from the Blazers walks up and goes “no autographs” – when there are literally hundreds of people carrying around balls and stuff that they were getting signed by everyone on the team, all of the players were signing whatever you had. They had Gerald Wallace behind the counter at the pro shop, signing stuff people bought, they even sold out of his jersey because people were just buying it and having him sign it.
I just think it’s ridiculous that when it’s a season ticket holder event, there’s no line around the guy, that they would turn away season ticket holders for autographs when I’m standing there holding a Sharpie and a ball – yet they’re fine with Crash signing stuff if they’re selling product.
Next season – GET RID OF THE STUPID POLICY!

apparently some of the staff at the event were instructed not to allow autographs
they wrote on the original event info that there were “no posed pictures or autographs” – but even when I read it I laughed because that’s all people want to do at things like this. And after the players were announced and went to their spots around the concourse, there were lines at each player for people to take pictures and get autographs. I was frustrated by the fact that I went right up to guys like Camby, Oden, Crawford, and Wallace to get things signed and it was no problem, but when I went up to Craig Smith the Blazers staffer turned me away.
Not to sound snobbish, but I think when it’s an event for season ticket holders – so a limited group that has put forth an investment in the team – that it’s kind of ridiculous not to allow autographs and pictures as a policy.

but why would he want a quilt with his face on it?
regardless, love when fans do these kinds of things
that's what I was thinking
really nice thing to do though – he can give it to his kid

And break out of his road woes.

That quilt, with the intricate hand stitching, is probably worth $1000 buck dollars at a quilt show..
That is quite the gift from a fan. I hope he appreciates it.

That quilt is cool
and way cooler than the Blazer uniform my wife is knitting me.

it would have been rad had she actually sewn his face into the quilt,
not just a piece with his face printed on it.
nice gesture, though not really worth its own front page fan post

It's news about a Blazer event, a Blazer player and a Blazer fan. That meets the criteria.

There oughta be a feel good story like this at the top of every front page of Bedge!
Ok I changed my signature. Do you like it better now?

I never got the memo about this event, didn't heard about it until the day of
Super bummer. I don’t know, maybe I am just real ugly, but I would never sleep with anything that had my face on it.

Fun Fact: Crash has not lost to the Lakers since 2005. 8-0 since.
King James gets a crown (different than a champ ring)
and poor man’s Lebron get’s to drape a hand-made quilt over his shoulders.
Wear it with pride GW, there’s a lot of fan-love in that thing.
Its beautiful
love the paisley print she paired with it too.
