Sponsored Reminder: DraftStreet Freeroll Tonight

Here's your update reminder that the DraftStreet.com freeroll event for Blazersedge readers is tonight.

Click this link and select your team for your chance at a share of $200. The contest is a cap-style draft of NBA players, assembled into a team. You'll have $100,000 to spend on your squad of 2 forwards, 2 guards, 2 centers, and 2 utility players. Each NBA player is assigned a "price" based on expected fantasy performance that counts against your $100,000 cap. Pick better than other people entering and you win your share of the prize money.

That's all there is to it. We're hoping that a few of you winners will use the prize money to send kids to Blazersedge Night. Good luck to all.

Having trouble finding the free NBA $200 prize pool game

This is obviously primarily a pay gambling site which is fine with me. They don’t seem to make it easy to find the free game that I played for the first time the other day and that you’r now promoting, Dave. Can you help guide me?

Hmmm...I'm getting in fine

1. Click the “this link” link in the post just above, not the general “DraftStreet.com” one.

2. Create an account if you haven’t already. On that screen it should say, “Thanks for participating in the Blazer’s Edge freeroll”.

3. After that you should see a pop-up for the freeroll. Click “Join League” to participate.

And you're right

it is a pay gambling site. That’s how they make their money. But there’s no obligation to participate beyond this freeroll. For most folks I imagine it’s take a chance, see if you can win something, go home…like getting a comped $20 for slots in Vegas.

Still no go...

I clicked “this link”, entered by log in ID from last time, but there’s no “thanks for participating….” message, no pop-up, etc. I wonder if the machine I’m using is filtering something out…?

Who are you spending big money on?

What are some of your strategies?
I went big with 1 position (durant)
Then averaged the rest of the money throughout every other position

I thought Craig Smith was a steal!

Definitely

Anthony Morrow, Aaron Gray, and Gary Neal are also cheap guys that put up decent numbers.

Phase 1: Collect underpants
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!

With a PER of -1.8?

Who’d have thought?

But seriously, the last Phoenix game was the SBN NBA bloggers freeroll. I had the league clocked except Jamal Crawford killed me by pulling out a stinker of a performance in Phoenix. I thought that was one of those games where he’d drop 28 as Portland forced the tempo. Now having had a little more experience with Jamal I understand that betting on him to tie his shoes in any given game is a risk. He cost me the win.

I did clean up taking Nash in that game though…

LA, Dwight Howard, Bosh, Lowry

eat up most my money, choosing that last player for < 4000 was interesting

The tensions are so high because the stakes are so low!

LMA, Dwight, Durant, Dre (always dependable)....

Harden, Camby (rebounding machine), Craig Smith, and then all I could afford was Juwan Howard. I feel pretty confident with that line up, unless Jrue Holiday keeps this up

This is a one day thing right?

Only games tonight count

go big or go home

I took plenty of big names and was still able to bag the rhino as a utility guy. Only have $47 left after all was said and done but I feel good about it

too late

i am getting a message saying the league has already started, but this seems like it could be fun

I'm pretty sure just tonight.

Just tonight

It’s a one-shot deal courtesy of DraftStreet in order to show you what they’re about.

You can certainly enter their leagues every night but it’s pay to play whereas tonight was a freeroll.

My main flaw here

was not realizing Dirk Nowitzki was out with injury.
