Chance Gordon won't extend???
It doesn't appear the League-run Hornets are going to throw enough money at Eric Gordon to keep him after this season. Is it possible for us to re-sign Batum today, then max Gordon this summer? I don't know how much cap space will be available after this season, but Camby's coming off the books and Felton are coming off the book, Crash likely to sign elsewhere, and having two productive SG's on the roster (both tradeable) provides them with options. May we have enough dollars left over to sign an upgrade at PG or a solid center who can defend/rebound?

Wallace has stated he wants to retire a Blazer
And blazers Front office has said they want to sign wallace….
Blazers won't resign Wallace. He wants a 4-year deal.

ya, i really like wallace
However, Wallace is fishing for his last “big NBA contract” and with Batum on the roster, it makes sense to shore up other positions. Wallace may end up here, but im not betting on it.
and,
“Wallace has stated he wants to retire a Blazer” is politically the right thing to say, plus he knows the Blazers have alot of money to spend next year.
As much of a spark he provides...
His health, age, and perimeter shooting limitations would make me think of going in a different direction. I would much prefer a younger healthier version of BRoy. Gordon can be that closer in the half-court as well.
But he hasn't signed it, nor has anyone hinted at the amount
at least, not to my knowledge.
Phase 1: Collect underpants
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!
Just eye-balling salaries here...
and from what I have heard, Indiana would be in the best position to sign Gordon. This can’t be too accurate because we don’t know what the cap will be, however, if Camby, Felton, and Wallace don’t return and Batum signs for a cool $8mil/yr extension we are right there with Indiana in terms of salary flexibility to sign a max player of Gordon’s level.
Is Eric Gordon a max player???

No way!
He is most definitely NOT a max player. If we’re going to max a player, we need either an all-star Center or all-star PG. I’d be happy trading Felton and Crawford for a PG like Rondo (give Batum more minutes at the 2 and let Williams have a few minutes) and using whatever money we have leftover and with Camby’s contract expiring to sign someone like Hibbert/Okafer (not max though)
Seperate question: I’m assuming Camby is going to want to re-sign with us next year for another year…maybe two. How much do you think he’ll be wanting? Would he sign for $4 or $5 million?
