Gameday Open Thread: Grizzlies vs. Blazers

UPDATE: Gerald Wallace re-injured his finger in the third quarter, and headed to the bench immediately. He returned in the fourth quarter.

The Grizzlies and Blazers played to a near-standstill in the first half, with Portland holding a 4 point lead. Hang out here and discuss the second half.

BTW, just a quick moment to reiterate the whole "no swearing" rule, including abbreviations. Thanks folks!

we kind of let Memphis off the hook

Too many turn overs and Aldridge would have continued to torch both Spights and Gasol on single coverage. The guy is shooting 6/7. You’d think they could find him a couple more shots.

What is the fetish with the baseline camera view on highlight plays?

It absolutely does not let you see how spectacular or diffiicult a play was

All right, a solid win tonight.

Entering tonight’s game, Portland had approximately a 60/40 chance at victory. I expected a closer outcome, but the final result is the same no matter if it’s a win of 15 or 5.

At any rate, however, both teams will be sitting home by the start of the Western Conference Semifinals. Tonight doesn’t change that, either.

Well, he still stinks either way.

It just would’ve been entertaining to watch is all.

Cool Ranch Luke

of course, Taco Bell would have to make a Cool Ranch Dorito Chalupa first, but I’m sure they’re working on that already

Crawford

For all the crap Felton takes the real issue long term is Crawford. That guy is eating BatumIs minutes without really deserving them. Seriously anyone can score a few points just hoising up shots. He is a bad fit on this team and the reason well end up losing batum.

by Cabbol on Jan 24, 2012 9:26 PM PST reply actions

Possibly, yeah. For starters I think Nate has a preference for Crawford.

It’s weird though, because i thought McMillan liked players who could play defense.

Seattle.

They’re all Seattle boys…

The smarter you are, the more likely you are to be tripping balls at any given moment.

So

Every player needs to just be selfish? Batum is a perfect complimentary player doing all the little things. What do we want for him to shoot every time he touches the ball like Crawford? This team is being mismanaged. Watch what happens by the playoffs. Enjoy the cheap wins. It’s one and done on the backs of 30 year old players. Way to plan ahead.
