Gameday Open Thread: Grizzlies vs. Blazers
No rest for the weary. Tonight, the Memphis Grizzlies visit the Rose Garden to play the Portland Trail Blazers (7:10 tip-off). Don't sleep on the Grizz, they've bounced back from the Randolph injury behind a core of Mike Conley Jr, Rudy Gay, and Marc Gasol. Plus their bench has been playing well recently. Can Portland pick up a home win against a fellow playoff contender?
Read: Dave's Preview | Blazers Media Notes | Facebook | Ben's onsite updates on Twitter
Watch: Comcast Sportsnet (Portland) | Blazers live streaming | NBA TV (National). There is no league pass coverage tonight!
Listen: 750 AM The Game (Portland) | NBA Audio League Pass (Free)
The usual rules apply:
1. No swearing | 2. No pictures | 3. Be Nice!
4. Don't discuss unofficial game streaming
And, of course, have fun. Go Blazers! -- Tim

my old laptop is extra slow tonight,I may or may not be able to hang out here tonight
But I have to ask again, why does an old homeboy like me have to sign in every time I come here?
by southern oregon on Jan 24, 2012 6:15 PM PST reply actions
The 'remember me' is unchecked
But this was not so for Brandon Roy who listened to teammate Nicolas Batum, "You're an All-Star, a 3-time All-Star. Take the ball. They can't stop you. You just have to believe in yourself."

Is that still happening SO?
Have you given the support guys a shout about that? Normally removing cookies should take care of that, but if that didn’t help, I’m confused too.

Yes, he is.
The smarter you are, the more likely you are to be tripping balls at any given moment.
/keep Batum/ /trade for Bogut/
He's out for a while.
But they’re playing well without him. Gasol is a monster, Conley is slowly realizing his potential, and Gay is scoring lots of points.
Driving me nuts
Does anyone know if I can Listen to the game some how some way, I’m in Ohio on business and can’t stream 750 cuz I can’t get adobe on the iPad. Not sure about NBA . Com it said I needed to be a member
HELP ME
You should be able to listen to NBA league pass for free.
You probably have to create an account on the site though (the account is free). It is kind of a pain, but they need to track you somehow!
there may be an app called gametime that you can use. I know I can get it on Android

Hi Ann! Well, I guess that answer my question up above.
LET THE LAMONSTER ERA BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I say rest the starters and put in only bench players!!
line up: Nolan smith PG
Ewill SG
Chris Johnson C
Babbit SF
Craig Smith PF
DO it Nate!! It would throw there whole game plan off. Sub others only if someone get tired or cries.
That would probably confuse them...briefly... then they would destroy us.
LET THE LAMONSTER ERA BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

save this for Wednesday night when the starts will be completely gassed
cause Nate won’t/can’t play his bench and they’re going down to Golden State which always bodes well. Need I emphasis the back to back to back part of that whole deal? Ugh, i’m torn between watching it for the train wreck I expect it to be or just sleeping. I do have to work at 0330.

Every once in a while, a player I don't really know joins the Blazers, and is a revelation
Right now, that’s Craig Smith.
Smith has always been instant offense
It’s his defense that’s weak cause he’s undersized at PF. He’s got some nice active hands early though deflecting and stripping some balls away
Henne is the greatest and the Dolphins will go 14-2 this year and win the SB

He desperately needs a Felton alternative.
It’s worth a shot.
Phase 1: Collect underpants
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!
I'm actually more relaxed on Nolan than I was earlier
I don’t think anything of him in particular, but there is a level worse than being invisible. Being invisible at least means you’re not actively hurting the team.
I’m cool giving him some room to grow at the moment.
Yeah, his handle and mechanics look good
That’s more than can be said for any of our more recent PG projects
Phase 1: Collect underpants
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!
Agreed. He's not a difference maker (yet?) But certainly he's not hurting the team.
He’s not turning the ball over for starters and really, all he does is bring the ball up and then pass to Crawford.
I'm just not seeing much NBA skill in Nolan Smith
His upside looks to be like fellow Duke player Chris Duhon.
Henne is the greatest and the Dolphins will go 14-2 this year and win the SB
Batum has been in the game 6 minutes
And not one person has passed him the ball yet. Not one play called for him. Some of that is on him for sure, but still.
by heybabydrinkyourmilk on Jan 24, 2012 7:45 PM PST via mobile reply actions
The scouting report on Crawford is easy.
Once he starts a crossover dribble or two it means he’s going to shoot.
After getting that second delay of game call, I hope Rice shuts his annoying trap about the refs.
Also, Crawford’s absence on D against O.J. Mayo there was repulsive. That lack of effort pisses me off to no end.
"I Am Mine"
Crawford is just so erratic from game to game
I dont know if its because his shot arc is so damn high or not, but he’s stone cold one game and lights it up the next. Sadly, h’s more cold than hot on aggregate
Henne is the greatest and the Dolphins will go 14-2 this year and win the SB

I have a very sneaky suspicion that Felton will be traded away before seasons end.
by BeaumontTXBlazerFan on Jan 24, 2012 8:03 PM PST reply actions
They'll likely let him go after the season.
Just a feeling. He was a rental, to give a young PG a shot.
Ahhhhh
We are building a brick house from 3pt land I sick of ray ray get him out of town we’ve given him enough time
yeah ray is still bricking like achamp WIDE OPEN shots over and over

This team is incapable of stepping on an even halfway decent team's throat
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
Lol
Bailout call somehow happened there
Henne is the greatest and the Dolphins will go 14-2 this year and win the SB

That's awesome
That's a 2:1 assist / turnover ratio. Oh wait...
Henne is the greatest and the Dolphins will go 14-2 this year and win the SB
Matthews and a first for Mayo and Tony Allen
Who says no?
Phase 1: Collect underpants
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!
Dang, I thought it was decent...
They’ve been shopping Mayo, want a first in a package for him, and Tony Allen has supposedly been ingratiating. Thought it might work.
Phase 1: Collect underpants
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!
WERE shopping Mayo
but haven’t been after the deal fell through with Indy. Tony Allen was big for them in the playoffs.
Johnson, Johnson, Smith, Smith, Thomas, Williams, and Babbitt: the Blazer's law firm.
I think they still want to move Mayo, though
There have been too many rumors about him. They just aren’t going to do a trade that screws them. My trade would ;)
Phase 1: Collect underpants
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!
haha he did.

GForce Crash Wallace FTW!
Good games in the last two stops on the road trip, and he played well against Sacramento.
So, recently.
He didnt really play that well against Sac
But he had 2 not bad games before that, especially the one immediate following Sac
Henne is the greatest and the Dolphins will go 14-2 this year and win the SB

Some people may hate Aldridge not playing much this quarter
I am okay with it. Keep the minutes down. Middle of a back 3 back (get it? Like Back 2 back, only it’s 3? Am I funny yet?).

Game cubed?

by Oh. Em. Gee. on Jan 24, 2012 8:07 PM PST up reply actions
It's not cubed though...I thought about that
It’s game + game + game = 3 game.
Not game * game * game = game cubed.
It’s math. You can’t argue with it.
I know where I come from, and when you always have in mind where you come from the rest will be easy. I think the rest will be easy.

i won't argue with math.
i’ll just punch it in the face! take that, math!

LMA will never get 50 with a coach like Nate
by Rosecity503 on Jan 24, 2012 8:07 PM PST via mobile reply actions
Because Roy never got 50 either.
Johnson, Johnson, Smith, Smith, Thomas, Williams, and Babbitt: the Blazer's law firm.
Everything that goes wrong is Nate's fault
So what if we are beating a decent team while we are on the second game in 2 nights. Fire Nate because Aldridge won’t get 50.
I know where I come from, and when you always have in mind where you come from the rest will be easy. I think the rest will be easy.

I think it's fair to criticize Nate
I think it’s just seen as a Debbie Downer when you complain after a win, so a loss is the only time left.
Lol
Very prescient observation
Henne is the greatest and the Dolphins will go 14-2 this year and win the SB
