Babbitt's hot streak!! (Poll)
Now that Babbitt is on a hot streak after hitting 1 shot in a row, the man deserves a FanPost. That one shot could be the beginning of his MVP run, or could be the beginning of an insane 3 point streak. The possibilities are endless really. That being said, I thought we should debate on where his minutes stand after the "shot heard 'round Portland, well, at the Rose Garden at least". I'll throw down the first vote.

i personally voted for 5-10 minutes a game, proving he can produce..
the guy has a good shot as we all know, but he hasn’t been given anywhere near a large enough sample size to see what he can do long term.

Babbitt reminds me of JJ Redick in a way
not skill wise, but JJ was an undefined little pudge when he came into the league, then with NBA training he became much more lean, chiseled, and athletic. Babs already looks more defined than he was last season. Hopefully if he keeps workin hard it will give him confidence and make him a more capable NBA level athlete.

You said the "C" word Sammy!!
Confidence! That’s what 5 to 10 minutes a game can give him. He’s a shooter who’s not shooting with confidence. He needs to be put in the game and told to shoot every open 3 that comes his way. Give him 7-10 games in a row in this role and see what his percentage is and what his impact on the game is. If he doesn’t produce, he’s no use to you so let him go. If he does, you might just have a lethal, defense stretching weapon.
Caveat – While on the floor he also needs to be SOLID on defense.

Thank you
for the belly laugh this FanPost just provided me. Three-point streak, yes.
Do you realize that Babbitt had the NBA’s highest CEPSA rating yesterday with a score of almost 20,000? I believe the rest of the league tied for second place with zero. For those who don’t know, CEPSA stands for Chalupas Earned Per Shots Attempted.

Now, this made me laugh!

glad to hear it.. how about a word that starts with "R" and ends with "ec"? Not saying this post deserves it or anything
but other people need to realize how awesome Babbitt and this poll really are/aren’t.

I will say.. even though it's early in the poll, I find it interesting that most people are willing to give him 5-10 minutes a game.
that’s significantly more than he’s ever received thus far. I’m in agreement—I just think he needs the time to build his confidence (sad considering it’s his second year in the league..)

Please back to the D league or where ever
But not on the Blazers roster, make room for someone who can at least play.
did you even see the shot last night? yes, i said shot--singular.
nuff said.

LOL just awesome
Babbitt moving up the charts in the MVP race!
Always cracks me up when the Chalupa chant starts and...
the ball is in Felton’s hands (basically every time) but Babbitt draining that tre last night was like imitation nacho cheese falling from Heaven!

My only comment
is that we should see Babbitt as more than just a “shooter”. He actually plays pretty decent team ball. He doesn’t force his shot, sets a decent pick, and passes pretty well.
i think the most underrated part of his game is his rebounding ability.

that's what's frustrating
I know he can be effective in the midrange, he can post up a bit, but so far he hasn’t possessed the mental fortitude to execute those things on the court

you just said "mental fortitude". that's a polite way of saying that he is terrible at the game of hoop.

I disagree
I think mental fortitude is more about not urinating on yourself every time you touch the court. We all know he can play, and I see no reason why he can’t at least be a role player at this level, but he just needs to calm down and play confidently.

haha, i 100% agree. was only having fun.
If anything, I’m one of the biggest supporters of Babbitt I know of. However.. he needs to find the court before this summer, or I think he’ll be waived or moved.

Competitor
Face it- all these guys are competitors- you have to be to be drafted at this level. Looking at Babbitt’s history, he’s a born competitor. His entire basketball career relied on that, as he lead his AAU teams, high school team to NV state champs, leader of conference, etc. What we’ve seen in the D-league is a glimpse of that- he has the competitor “edge” and is in sync with his role. Here with blazers so far, he’s been playing in basic non-competitive situations. He’s in when the game is not on the line. Last night, he delivered for a purpose. This kid doesn’t seem to compete for his own stats, but for the “W”. I’d like to see him play more in situations where he has his edge because it means something toward a win.

Personally,
I think it’s all between his ears, and I hope playing with GW on a regular basis causes some of that confidence to rub off.

Trade Nolan Smith!!!
He should have passed the ball to Babbit last night, but instead he denied the entire rose garden of sweat sweat low grade meats…
The tensions are so high because the stakes are so low!
did you mean sweet? Or are you literally talking about sweaty meat?

Why do people love Babbitt?
He’s shown time n time again – he sucks. And he has no discernible personality.
Armon Johnson has a twitter feed, better game, and better fashion. Why no one talk/care about him?
M, period. Fresh, comma.
what's not to love? Sweet haircut, sweet stroke, sweet contract, steady minutes.
Of course I’m kidding, but he’s the guy we love to hate and hate to love. Every team has one. Look at Brian Cardinal on the Mavericks, or Scalabrine on the Bulls.

Babbitt is awesome
Did you know that he doesn’t guard people on defense? He just roundhouse kicks them in the face. He also doesn’t study game tape, he just stares at it until it surrenders all the info.

Ive been hanging around the Bobcats page recently
One of their main posters constantly advocates Babbitt for their second unit.
I hope they fire Cho and make that guy GM
then we give em Babbitt for Kemba.
