Gameday Open Thread: Kings vs Blazers
UPDATE: Marcus Camby has a "mild groin strain" and may not return tonight.
The Blazers caught fire to the tune of a 20 point lead in the second quarter, but a halftime heave by Tyreke Evans cut the lead to 15 at the half. Hang out here and discuss the second half! -- Tim

it wasn't a case of need t hough... if you should be a "starter" you should get more then 1 shot in a half regardless

but I would really hope, kicking off a B2B2B, he let’s the reserves play more than he wants to

I comes the Grizz mount a come back
and then fail in overtime
why does everone think this game is a blowout?
this is a classic Portland special where we destroy the opponent, let them back in it as the clock winds down, then finally try hard enough to eeek out a 7 point victory. Don’t get to excited to see the deep bench.
Small sample size to boot.
He rarely dunks. Is the dunk fail the norm or not?
That was rough LMA

The comforting part about Wes' funk

Batum conspiracy:
Crawford seems to find Wes in the corner just fine…
seriously
i was thinking the same thing. jamal looks past nic every time he’s in the corner.
PHILLY!
Typically Crawford is such a ball dominant player that I guy can be open all night like Batum and will not get the pass.
Or a PG like Nolan will not get to play point either when along side Crawford.
42% from the floor, 56% from the line, 13 turnovers,

I'm not here to make moral judgments...
…but he plays like a punk and I don’t like him as a player.
I don’t really care about him on a personal level and he may be the sweetest li’l cupcake in the world off the court but his attitude sucks on the floor and he seems like a poisonous teammate. It’s all about him and he plays little to no defense. LaMarcus and The Rhino both used him. When a guy like Craig Smith literally blows by you… you’re NOT trying.

yeah this
makes me wonder what he’s asking for if he still can’t recognize that he needed to shoot that
May be why they don't pass to him?
All people improve the gene pool; some by birth, some by their demise!
batum should feel free to let the shots fly. everyone on the team seems to feel comfortable shooting some pretty crazy shots, sometimes they go in. take a chance. you can’t shoot worse than crawford and felton have so far.
one of his biggest problems is how often does nico dribble? he rarely does, so when the ball goes to him theres no more creation really just gets passed along
yeah, it would be nice if he tried. i know he did maybe twice earlier and it didn’t go so well, but matthews does that at least a few times every game. it’s obviously allowed.
well you wnat play makers on your team.
if nico’s gonna just stand there and pass it in the corner you can put babbitt in to do that… think of players like Wes and wallace, whether they mess up or not they at least go for it

Nice shot by Crawford.
I don’t know what to think of this trend, but it does seem like the guys unconsciously view Batum as a non-option. On Felton’s pass to Crawford it looked like he was determined to pass to Jamal first. Granted, Crawford kinda had a hot hand, but still. Unfortunately Batum is just a fluffer for the other guys.
It's because he acts all aloof during practice.

Theres the difference between batum and wallace
wallace started in the corner ran baseline got the ball, passed it and cut, andn got a lay up… if htats batum he just stays in the corner.
Lving some Craig Smith this game.
