Suggestion for jersey contest...

In the much bigger scheme of things, last night's game was a real bummer. One would have thought the Blazers would have pulled themselves together enough to beat a really crappy team and salvage a 3-3 road trip. But no. It seems this game meant a lot more to me than it did to them.

On a lighter note, I am wondering if Bedge management might be able to tweak the jersey contest entry form so that when one is entering one can't screw things up so that their points get properly credited to them? As it is, I would have the honor and distinction of being the second highest scorer among those who only remembered to enter 7 times in January IF all of my points went to the same user name. But no, since the form allows you to use different user names with the same e-mail address, I have points under one user name for 6 games and points under another one for 1 game. What happened is that for that one game (one, I think, that I entered via my iPad) the first letter of my username was capped when it shouldn't have been-one annoying aspect of the iPad. Seems that the form shouldn't allow one to sign in using different usernames with the same e-mail address, right?

Small potatoes, I realize, when compared to the Blazers' woes. BTW, I was looking at the schedule for remaining games and if we think a 6 game road trip was rough, it looks like they have a 7 gamer in March! And all I have to worry about is making sure I don't accidentally screw up my jersey contest entries 8>)!

the jersey contest

always has my name and email in the top corner. It never changes. All I have to do is enter my guesses and hit submit. I never change my info at the top, it always stays the same. You shouldnt have to re enter it every time.

It's fine to say things like this

and we appreciate the suggestions.

However you also have to consider that the guy who made the automated form in the first place did it for free and basically continues to work every year making sure it works right, entering the schedule, and correcting my mistakes. He’s done this out of the goodness of his heart and love for the site. Therefore I feel bad asking him to change the form or the system, putting in even more work with a re-do when he put in all that work in the first place.

When he stepped up to do the form I was literally on the verge of quitting the contest. I used to have to score and tabulate every entry by hand. That was time consuming when there were 40-50 entries a night. At that point I was doing 200. It was taking three hours after the recap just to get it done every…single…game. I couldn’t keep that up. This guy, and that form, saved the contest for all of us.

I’m not saying it’s perfect. Different features would be nice. I wish we had them too. But between the free work and updates on the form plus the fact that I’ve purchased every single jersey ever given away with my own money, you have to look at the contest first and foremost as a gift…something fun for us all to do and not take too seriously. If it starts to become more stress than that for any of us it’s going beyond its intended purpose.

LOL

I have my ‘Sheed jersey. That’s enough. Save your $10 to send a kid to Blazersedge Night and we’ll be good!

I'm a little bit floored

that ‘Sheed is your choice for your one jersey. His is the only jersey I have either, but I wouldn’t have pegged you for a ’Sheed guy.

In part

it tells you that Rasheed was brilliant for this team up until that last 18 months or so ruined it. In part it tells you how long it’s been since I’ve bought a jersey for myself.

Well gee, now I feel downright guilty...

I wasn’t trying to make a really big deal out of this….

Oh what the heck, go ahead and ask the guy to do you another favor and fix it so I won’t mess up my entry again. And while you’re at it, maybe he could make it easier for me to find my scores without having to scroll through the entire list.

Ask, and you shall receive…or not….

No problem

I just wanted folks to understand that we’re not ignoring them or trying to make it inconvenient. We’re just working with a special situation here. Volunteer labor and all.
