Gameday Open Thread: Blazers vs. Pistons

A tired Blazers team got their lunch money stolen in the first half by the aggressive Detroit Pistons, leaving them with a 11 point deficit.

Can the Blazers muster up the energy to come back and finish the road trip at .500? Hang out here and discuss the second half. -- Tim

Stuckey was shooting like 35% before this game lol

Letting him dunk off offensive boards all night has him looking pretty good. We need to shut down the paint and work through LMA on offense. If we do that this game is over early in the 4th.

Seriously, what the hell are we gonna do going forward?

We’re going to have the same exact team next year with maybe a marginal PG upgrade.. We’re going to keep making the playoffs and getting bounced in the first or second rounds for the foreseeable future.

I had being a middle of the pack NBA team. It’s pure purgatory.

by Rudy4three on Jan 21, 2012 5:49 PM PST reply actions

Sure

So Nate just needs to look into the future to see if his shot will fall. Either that or constantly give Crawford the quick hook and make him gun shy and useless.

Basketball is totally mental at this level. There is something that happens where the team that is down plays harder. Also, the team

that is holding a lead will always score when you score. They won’t answer any of the buckets that choked the lead, but the second you get within 1 point they start scoring.

Some are arguing regression to the mean,

That just about sums up the day.

I know where I come from, and when you always have in mind where you come from the rest will be easy. I think the rest will be easy.

Wow.

Love the Pistons announcers on the turnover. FULL TILT HUSTLE.

Dude dribbled it off his foot.

Ramond Felton Strikes Again

Anyone else tired of this moron’s sloppy play? Why was/is everyone so high on this guy…he is more out of control than Bayless was with the basketball…

…gimme dre/Bayless/johnson back any day.

When can Smith take over?

tired of this garbage

really felton turnovers and come on nate take crawford out of the game dude gets called for carrying then miss two buckets in a row…. at least it was nice to see smith step it up and where did batum go after scoring 10 points in the first half? these inconstant are why they will never be better then they are

I can imagine that roster adjustments will

be done after this horrible road trip. If something doesn’t happen, blame the coaching staff on that. One cannot keep the same line up and carry on throughout the season like everything is fine.

Ray is the goat?

How about Batum making dumb plays, shooting bad. What about Wes having a bad game. What about Prince doing the splits for the ball to be kicked.

It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong. I am NOT a big man.

not his first rodeo

he plays out of control, turns the ball over way to much and is probably the last person on the team I want with the ball in his hands dribbling or shooting when the game is tight and there are a few ticks left on the clock.

If it was his first, I wouldn’t be a big deal, but the dude is out of control; not exactly the ideal trait of a starting PG I would think nor expect anyone to defend.

We might lose some guys for a couple consistent shooters real soon

The offense hums along when someone is hitting from the perimeter. We look like crap when the defense is packed in and we still need to force the ball into LMA to try and salvage some offense. No mistake though…had LMA been getting calls we would have beat Detroit.

Basically our guards are failing epically. Kurt, Craig, LMA, Camby…all doing a pretty solid job. We$, Jamal and Ray not getting the job done consistently enough. Same with Crash and Nico too lately.

Swap some guys for someone that can shoot and suddenly we’re a pretty decent team. Suddenly Aldridge becomes near unstoppable against 24 out of 30 teams.
