Meh
I know less than half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

3/4 3 point shooting...
Has he been practicing real hard just to spite us? Go Dre!

Was watching him take and make those 3s.
His form definitely looked different/better this year. His distance shooting may not be a total fluke. Three point shooting is one trick even old dogs can learn (see: Jason Kidd). It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Dre develops a reliable three to stick around a few more years at a high level. It also wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t do it while here due to stubbornness.
It was a real blunder by Nate/management to bring Dre in as the starting PG, and then bench him behind a clearly inferior player.

I heard that George Karl gave him green light to shoot 3s
without hesitate or worry. Is quite different when you play for a coach who respects and trusts you.
Wish George Karl was here.
Or Adelman
Or Carlisle
Or Thibadeau
Or Sloan
Or Gentry
Or Budenholzer
Or Monty
And wish Bickerstaff, Ociepka and Nate would go elsewhere.
I wonder if Phil Jackson is bored yet
He knows Portland is a fun basketball town.
He knows the owner is motivated and able to back him up.
Could be a fun little excursion, especially if Oden shows up? GM/coach.
But we don't have one of the greatest players in history
This isn’t a place for him.
I did mention Oden ?
ok, how about another ‘retiree’
Larry Brown
He coached Felton (when he was apparently good) and Crash
?
I know, wild ideas for desperate times.
Lol Oden is one of the best players in History?
the guy probably doesn’t even remember how to play basketball.
geez

Last year he said in an interview at least once..that he'd started practicing. To improve his game.
He’s a smart guy. He’s probably realized this is what older point guards can do. He didn’t do this to spite the Blazers. At all.
Now if he uses these 3 pt shots to bury the Blazers…who can blame him.
Not due to lack of talent, that's for sure
Dre is a stud. I am surprised to see this many people supporting him after the trade. I am too lazy to go back and track who said what last season, but I definitely did not feel like I held the majority opinion. Dre was my favorite player last season.
He never gives up, and he has an uncanny feel for the flow of the game, knowing when to set up the post, when to set up the wing, and when the game needed him to probe the defense and create his own shot. He made the other players on the team better, which is the hallmark of a great point guard.
Geriatric swagger!

Who needs a leadership?
Or the ability to score points in crunch time? Or great court vision?
Not Blazers, not now. They have plenty of players with similar qualities.
Hey, we have Raymond Felton now.He is young, he can spread the floor, he can shoot 3s / is not important whether he makes them /.And again he is young.
He is everything that Dre is not.
How can we miss Miller?

There is at least one person to whom Andre is missing a lot -
LaMarcus Aldridge.

My favorite part of the Dre highlights
are that he dribbles the ball without kicking it or slipping and falling to the ground.

just laughed out loud..thank you for the memories Dre. I miss you.
Even if Felton turns into a decent point guard, he is not Miller…you know who probably really misses him…LaMarcus.
I'm sorry, but Felton couldn't lace Dre's shoes.
And I believe we are better than 8 and 6 with Miller running this team.
"Per John Hollingers twitter - Over the final 12:45 of today's game, Brandon Roy's PER was 84.98" GM 4 vs Mavs
And I'll bet he misses every third eyelet.

Miller with 3pt range is a very good point guard
very, very good. As in mid-range, long-range, post up, in the paint, lob passes, outlet passes, bail you out when needed, run the offense type of good.
The kind of point guard that will set guys up and get the offense humming on most nights while putting up something like 12 and 12 and then outplay Rose on another night with something like 27 and 12.
Dangit Ray! Needs to get his stuff together. I knew he wouldn’t be as good but I was hoping he’d at least hold down the position. At least last game looked better.
The question is...
…for how much longer. Dre is getting a little long in the tooth. He is still a viable competitor this year but he’s nobody’s PGotF hence the trade. And that is really what we need right now. Felton is basically on a trial run and we could do worse. And who knows, we can still hope that he finds his groove and turns up the production. The season is still young and I don’t think we’ve seen the best Ray can provide us yet. I am more concerned about running Crawford in the 1.
not a valid argument
both players were on 1 year deals. if the blazers think felton is a pgotf, they could sign him next summer. what they did was trade a better player for a worse player for one year and gave up a draft pick in the process.

Captain Hindsight the days of yester.
Who would’ve thought?
I don't always root for an NBA franchise, but when I do, I prefer the Portland Trail Blazers.

Man everyone hated on Dre when he got here
Now everyone is hating on Ray.
In conclusion, calm down. Ray will make strides.
"Brandon Roy has done this before."
As for myself, I was ecstatic to get Dre.
As he was someone I’d like to see on the Blazers since the trade deadline the previous year.
As for Felton, few people along with myself have said at the time of the trade that he was a definite downgrade compared to Miller. As usual, expectations have gone out of control during the where ’Sedgers started to talk themselves into the idea that Felton was an upgrade. Now, everyone is piling on him as he is struggling.
My expectation is that he will get better in terms of shooting %, but not some of the other issues like turnovers and late game mistakes as that was always there.
The cake was a lie.
Felton is making passes that got Armon Johnson benched, last year
Nate is not an easy coach to play for, if you’re an PG. OTOH, McMillian emphasized pushing the tempo in camp and Ray was supposed to be the catalyst for that. So, it’a tough call for the coach to go away from his starting PG, despite of the diminishing returns
I said before the season that Portland’s playoff hopes hinged on Felton’s play. He’s got to pick it up or it will be one-round-and-out again this April, and that repeated failure could impact Nate’s Blazer future
Hang together gentlemen, or you could “hang” separately, this summer
When reached 40+ years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
without Miller = no playoffs the last 2 years for Portland
Sure, two first round exits, though that wasn’t all ’Dre’s fault
let’s see what Felton can do with more than a month. One thing’s for certain, if Ray was lost for the season, this team would quickly drop into the lottery
So another veteran backup PG would make a lot of sense, someone like…Andre Miller
When reached 40+ years of following Portland basketball you have, be as passionate of the Trail Blazers you will not!
they've gotten point guards back from Denver in the past....Blake for instance..
wouldn’t THAT be ironic!!!
Yes, I miss Dre!
Especially when I turn to watch the Nuggets/Knicks game to see Dre do what Dre does so well but watch him grab a loose ball way from a ways beyond the arc and hit as the shot clock winds down. Of course, the he tried to throw Corey Brewer a lob a la Nic at the Spur game last season and hit the rim but he rarely does that.
Felton’s been shooting better and hopefully he’ll calm down a bit on turnovers but right now, I’d take back Dre in a heartbeat!
