The NBA is a game of streaks. Always has been...

always will be.

It's funny to think about all the times I've come in here to vent about what needs to be adjusted and what needs to stay the same. Throughout the years I've seen players struggle, players wine and even players beg. With all of that in the history books I ought to know that it will happen at some point every year.

But oh no, not this year.

This year the team seems like a team that just wants to ball and give it their all every night. I love that about them and let's make no mistake about it, that's why this team started out 6-1 . Don't get me wrong though, this team has so much to work on before they can be considered contenders.

Some of the biggest problems have to come from the smallest things, such as being beaten by a single screen on defense that ends with the opposing team scoring a tremendously easy basket. Another would be just simply put in Nate's words "We didn't hit shots". You have to execute the offense with the goal mainly being to make a basket, and I don't care if it's the most awkward shot in the world, take the smartest shot possible and execute. One missed shot is all it takes to start pilling up more and more.

Rebounding is also another key issue, with Marcus Camby out there still shouldn't be an excuse. Don't let the other team know in the back of their minds that "if we stop them from making shots, we're going the other way", put pressure on them and make them hesitant to run back on offense.

There will be plenty of ups and downs as there always is with every season. Don't take the 2-5 record out of the last 7 games to the bank quite yet. There should be a turn around here somewhere soon. Hold on.

Me too.

Go Blazers. I can’t do anything about rebounding enthusiasm. And I think Nate is probably one of the best to get his crew to crash the boards. Get the man some center talent then talk to me !

The NBA is a game of streaks

Nice, juicy plump streaks…… Over the grill… with scalloped potatoes…

I know less than half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Just gotta peak at the right time

The tensions are so high because the stakes are so low!

The start of the season

shows what this team can do when they have energy. Had this been a team from the recent past we may not have seen this much of a let down but with the new faster pace this energy seems to have faded a bit. I am believing this is just a temporary lull until everyone gets into game shape. We all know that even with normal training camp and preseason it takes a month or so into the season for most players to round into form and I expect this team to look a lot more like the 1st 7 games as the season wears on.
