ESPN talking heads still think we can contend

I think the blazers need to win in order to contend.

I think we are more of a contender this year than last year
The season will be a wacky one. If we can include more players in the rotation, we will be able to win at a more consistent rate, but if we make just enough to make the playoffs, I don’t see why we couldn’t beat most of the teams in the west.
More players means
less constancy. I’d have to disagree with you.
Less tired players are also more consistant
? maybe
The tensions are so high because the stakes are so low!
the players that aren't playing
aren’t in there for a reason, they aren’t very good

But we would still win at an inconsistent rate
we would lose the games our scrubs play, and we would win the game our good guys play.
Camby
We need him back. Just because he doesn’t score doesn’t mean he isn’t a HUGE game changer.
With him we can get rebounds and fast break.
did they shorten the playoff games to a 3 or 5 game series, or are they all 7 still?

In between a Pre/contender....
We are a high pretender team or a barley contending team….
Until we see consistency from everyone we are pretenders. If in the next month Jamal, Felton, mathews and Wallace start performing In a consistent basis, specially at hitting wide open jumpers and can increase their 3 point percentage to at least 40% this team can ball with any team in the league and will be a definite contender. That’s if this team can be healthy and can figure out how to play the starters shorter mins.
Hopefully “the schedule” will be less difficult…. But if you look at the schedule, even though the teams we will be playing are sub par teams… This team still have a 7 game road trip, and a back to back to back coming along.
Also from here on out the blazers will play every other day except a stretch through all star break and 1, 2 day break for the rest of the season.

That'd be awesome.
I had a dream he checked into a game a couple nights ago… he had lost a lot of his old athleticism, but the other team missed every shot at the rim.
"Brandon Roy has done this before."
Oden & healthy Camby + everyone doing their part well = contender
Otherwise…second round if Jamal and Felton pick it up
first round exit if they don’t
no playoffs at all if any ugly things happen, Felton continues to suck, Camby’s in and out, Jamal isn’t hittin’, Oden never comes back, LMA gets tired, EWill doesn’t win the dunk contest, etc. etc. etc.
Yeah, sounds about right.
Especially on Email and the dunk contest.
Phase 1: Collect underpants
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!
We still have a chance
Not a great chance but there are several ways we could indeed end up as contenders this season.
I too think better then last yr
again I think ESPN is right on the money here, they love our talent but our coach to is to “predictable” and as many of writers have quoted, team like that “tends not to go far in the playoffs”…though we are running more which can be good, when coach nate is under stress he tends to go back to bad habits…..have you notice when the team starts to get off course, he just sits back and watches the train come off the tracks…he is slow at adjusting.always has been, has a reputaion around the country for that.nice guy but thats part of coaching….coach while the game is going on….not just at half time or after the game…after the loss. MAKE FASTER REALTIME ADJUSTMENTS!!
