Blazers' best option in the clutch? (Poll)
In shock at the absurdity of Portland's decision making in the final stages of the Houston game (late Q4 and OT)--particularly after a Nate-designed set play out of a timeout ended in a contested long j by felton--I started thinking about what PDX's best crunch time options actually are. Even though Aldridge was generally off his game in Houston, he was reasonably successful the few times he dared to actually challenge in the paint. As Dave has noted, he seems to be most successful when he posts up low and makes a quick move to the hoop with one or no dribbles. When PDX desperately needs a basket at the end of a game, i claim posting Aldridge low is by far the best route, as it opens up several attractive scoring possibilities for the team. In any case, would be curious to hear the opinions of BEdgers on this.... Please vote below, and just let me know if I've left out an obvious alternative.

"Closer by committee"
I realize the “closer” is the critical role in sports. We don’t have one. To use the baseball analogy , we have to use the “closer by committee”..
So my vote is other. I want the Blazers to just always run their offense! Pass the ball around, get a good shot, whoever feels hot, take it! Different guy every nght! If it’s Ray initiating, or Craw, or Nico – run the Offense!
Ray is too streaky, so I guess I want Crawford involved, but I need one of them to look up, see cutters, and run the O. If it’s LMA from the elbow extended, take it. If it’s Nic in the corner 3, let it fly.
Love LMA, especially his growth the last few years, but he consistently proves he’s NOT the clutch guy…
Wes is so streaky, if he’s hot, absolutely give him the ball, if not, get him off the court.
Craw is the same way.
Crash is an open court beast, should be on the bench in halfcourt Offense situations.
Batum is great, but not clutch, yet.
Who else we got?
Nobody like Broy.
So, you don’t have “the guy”… you have “the guys”…and, if nobody else gets a shot, you let Crawford create. But ideally, a different guy, teh hot guy, hits the clutch shot every night.
