Gameday Open Thread: Blazers vs. Spurs (Second Half)
INJURY ALERT: Marcus Camby rolled his ankle and needed to be helped off the court in the second quarter. See Ben's post below for details and video, we'll provide updates as we get them.
Despite a good first quarter, the Blazers fall behind by 3 at halftime in San Antonio. Hang out here and discuss the second half. -- Tim

i dont care about homerism, I like it actually. Not like they are that independent after all, like TNT or something. Mike and MIke are great in this respect.
But Adam Bijaaararashooohnjnnn keepps flubbing his lines over and over, game after game. Maybe too much on his plate with KGW+this.

I hate it when annoucers say the oppenent can't maintain this high shooting percentage all game...
Uhhh..yeah they can if we play crappy perimeter defense…. ask the Magic….opponents shooting a high percnetage against us has been a long term trend dating back to last year. Its getting tiresome.

We don't have an offensive identity.
Sure, we kind of have a defensive plan: force turnovers try to rebound. But our offense is throw the ball to LaMarcus, let him pass to a bad three point shooter and watch him brick that shot.

we got the first basket of the quarter
since then it’s been 20-4 spurs

These Guys are Hacking Each Other to Pieces
The refs have completely lost control of this game.

And there it is
Felton hits finally
Henne is the greatest and the Dolphins will go 14-2 this year and win the SB
Blazer frantic time

to be honest, I think this game secures LA as an all-star

Blazers early season success starting to look like fools gold.
Much like last year…we have long stretches of horrid offsense and don’t know how to get out of it without just “hoping” someone gets hot. We suck at drawing fouls..getting to the line…. figuing out how to get easy buckets when the outside shots aren’t falling.
ghouls fold?

Just post this.
Blazers not very good, lose to better Spurs. Blazers lose one of 8 rotation players. Outlook grim.

Portland has 17 steals tonight
Huge total.
Henne is the greatest and the Dolphins will go 14-2 this year and win the SB
You'll have to wait until two minutes
Nate rolls like that

Crap Offense...Again
Leave it to the Blazers, again to not score against one of the leagues worst defenses because McMillan does not know good offense.
Nate needs to play the stinking rookies so they can improve….how come every other team plays rookies but McMillan doesnt? Im telling you Nolen Smith will be much better than Felton if actually allowed to get some playing time. He is a better shooter, quicker, longer and was an excellent defender in college.
I have always hated how no rookies get playing time. We especially need it given all the back-to-backs the Blazers will be playing.
i really should not get this upset about one game considering how long the season is
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
yeah, as a realistic fan, I know we'll lose 25-30 this season

41-25 would be a sweet record, though i'll take 37-29

But it's a shortened season so you have to accelerate your upsettedness.
#52--------I believe in Greg Oden
I get upset because it just seems impossible for this team to get their poop together on road games.
Would like for us to be an above .500 road team. Oh well.
He should have taken as many shots as Dwight took free throws

seriously, how come San Antonio does such a better job of drafting than us in recent years?
and trading for Leonard ? Hes a rookies who’s producing and getting minutes from Pops!

My Poiny Exactly
Nolan Smith is a talent…the difference is he does not play while Leanord plays ALOT!

Popovich has job security is my guess.
He’s got a proven record in the post season. Nate’s got squat. He’s too terrified to take a risk or a flier on a rookie.
plus/minus in a single game is compltely meaningless
i hate that stat, because the people who mention it rarely ever know how to interpret it properly.
PHILLY!
The blazers have played terribly
But aldridge could have single handedly won this game if not for poor officiating

this is one of the few times ive wondered if the refs have had action on the game
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
Absolutely terrible 4th quarter!
might as well played the bench the entire quarter.
#7... GO BLAZERS!!!
parker checked in and got 6 pts in abt 30 sec of game time
completely stopped the comeback
game is over,
deep bench paleese…
EWill thinkin’ WHEN ?

Spurs with a 30 pt 4th qtr
"Per John Hollingers twitter - Over the final 12:45 of today's game, Brandon Roy's PER was 84.98" GM 4 vs Mavs
At 76-91
I closed my fuzzy, jerky, illegal feed. Enough’s enough. Don’t want to sound like a sore loser but we didn’t get any calls. The offensive beauty stopped as soon as Jamal came in for the first time and started chucking. yeech, ptooey.
only other bad loss was @Phoenix
and this game was much closer than the final score will indicate
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
So we finally get a good start.
But then suddenly we can’t play well late.

Felton is Terrible
… i want to believe he’s better than he’s shown…. but idk…. he might have been a huge mistake…. so far this year….. Wildly Inconsistent Defense… HORRIBLE shooting and average passing…. i’m beginning to wonder if he is in fact starting material!?
The only thing he's shown is that he's quick.
As a floor general he’s rather mediocre, perhaps even less so. However people say he had a great year in NY. Who knows, maybe that version will come.
His NY experience was an aberration
Just look at the stats since he entered the NBA. He’s got a career 14.4 PER. Thats borderline starting PG on an average team
Henne is the greatest and the Dolphins will go 14-2 this year and win the SB
Patty is quicker,
what else can he do ? I am curious.
I know, defensive liability. He can steal though !

when elliott goes in he just tries to pad his stats

Seriously I cannot wait until the Spurs visit the RG
and we CRUSH them. i want to win by 30.
Get well Greg! Rip City is still behind you!
in a way i wonder if starting batum with felton, and bringing wes off the bench
might help batum get more untracked
mathews would probably be fine either way
i was thinking the same thing
i fell like wes could be better of the bench than batum whether he deserves the spot more or not
