Joel Freeland Out 2-3 Weeks With Ankle Injury
Meru noted in the FanShots this week that International Portland Trail Blazers big man Joel Freeland, currently starring for Unicaja Malaga in Spain's ACB league, suffered a serious ankle injury.
Brother Wendell Maxey writes on RIdiculousUpside.com that the injury is expected to keep Freeland out for 2-3 weeks.
---------------------------------
Joel Freeland - who plays for Unicaja Malaga in the ACB Spanish league and remains the draft property of the Blazers - will miss the next 15 to 20 days of action with a sprained right ankle the team announced today. Freeland is averaging 14.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game as Unicaja's leading scorer.
---------------------------------
Blazers Acting GM Chad Buchanan said recently that Portland will "look hard" at importing Freeland this summer.

step 1: Acquire immense Eurostash
step 2: Sacrifice
step 3: Keep Blazers healthy

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice they're not.

Bring Freeland to the Land of the Free 2013!
I don't always root for an NBA franchise, but when I do, I prefer the Portland Trail Blazers.

Sprained Ankle? 15-20 Days?
Come on! By recent Blazer standards that’s not a serious injury. That’s nothing. Get back to me when he is rehabbing for months…falls in the shower, suffers mysterious setbacks, and/or suddenly announces his retirement.
