Who is the Pick to Click versus the Spurs tonight.
I am trying to think who will have the break out game tonight. I checked out some previous game stats of Felton, and Crawford on their previous teams vs the Spurs. It seems both have had pretty good success, but I think Crawford will have better success tonight. I am still not totally sold on Felton. I still miss Dre.
I would like to see more Felton/Crawford playing together instead of using Jamal as the point. I think he is better at taking shots in crunch times than trying to run the offense, and get his shots. It is too predictable for other teams even though most times he is pretty unstoppable.
A nice backup point guard would be nice. Nolan just isn't going to cut it, and don't even get me started about Armon or Patty Mills coming back. As much as I hate to say it I think we may want to offer Batum to another team for another point guard. I think Batum as good as he is just isn't fitting into the team minutes these days. He should have quite a good value to another team, and it would balance our team even more with a veteran back up point guard.
Will Camby have a good night tonight? I am thinking for some reason he is going to be in foul trouble, and have limited minutes. It sounds like the Spurs are more of a perimeter team, and I am not sure an inside presence is what we need tonight. Tim Duncan is not producing the same numbers, and probably doesn't require a double team these days.
How about Gerald Wallace? He has had some big games against the spurs, and I see him having a pretty good game tonight. I think his aggressiveness will pay off.

Expecting big game from ...
Nic Batum tonight.
Aldridge burned the Spurs last year with Popovich praising him so it will be interesting to see if the Spurs will throw double teams at Aldridge. If they don’t double Aldridge I expect a good night for LA too.

How?
I just don’t see Nic getting the minutes, and I think he is struggling with that. I think he even knows with Wallace, and Crawford he moved down the pecking list even though he did great over in France. It was different over there because he always had the ball in his hands. I don’t really see set plays for Nic now on the Blazers. He is just an option once the play breaks down. I just don’t see a lineup that really works with him in it. He hasn’t been really hitting his outside shot so he isn’t a real threat, or pulling defenders out to guard against the 3 pointer.

How?
Nic Batum shots at rim % this year + mean reversion + showing up fellow countryman Tony Parker + SA lack of defensive muscle in the paint . That’s how.
Nic’s 3-pt % this year is good so far. He’s struggling on shots off the dribble in the 16-23 ft range.
He was my pick too, for the same reasons
I have a good feeling about Nic tonight.
Now all we need is the rest of the roster to get into "how can everybody help Nicco and Oden" mode. -- Oden Mad, Oden Smash! Sep 29, 2010 7:47 PM
He played 34 minutes against the Magic
his average last season was 31. Considering how tight the game was I think that shows a desire to have him on the floor.

It has to be LMA
look at there front line….it is pitiful if they double team expect we$ to have a game like he did against the wolves..yessir
We will see
Let’s hope his shot is on. It will be deadly. I think with him, and Crawford out on the line it will make the Spurs pay. I really expect big numbers from both of them tonight. I think they will definitely be doubling LA especially if he is hitting his shots too.

Don't miss Dre
I liked him as a personality, but he lost intensity at key moments and I don’t miss that near certainty that we’d blow leads in the fourth quarter from last year. i like Crawford and Felton. They can be spotty but offer more than Dre and the injured Roy did last year. So we’re better off. As far as trading Batum, it’s not a bad idea if we could get someone really good, but I’m not sure we could. I’d like to see Crawford go off tonight – he’s due and out of his slump from previous games.
He just needs to do something to give me something to cheer about.
I am hoping it is just getting used to the team, and eventually it will all click. I just never had Felton on my radar as a good PG in the league. I really didn’t even know who he was. I can think of many other PG’s I would have rather seen come to the Blazers.

Interesting on Nic for a PG
I wonder if there is a possibility somewhere that could include Batum for a youngish solid PG, maybe packaged with Oden or Camby for a young big?
Batum + Oden + right to swap picks in the upcoming draft for Hibbert and Collison?
I initially thought Batum + Camby for Okafor and… and… wait, is Jarrett Jack the only PG on the Hornet’s roster? Eric Gordon is more of a scorer than we want at the 1 IMO.
As far as the topic of the original post… Batum seems to like doing well against Parker, so he’s a good pick. But I think we’re going to see Wallace GO OFF to show his ability to play on the road, build some confidence for the road trip. Even in pre-season, he had 6 points and 5 rebounds at Utah. His 13 and 10 in OKC may have been enough to help the Blazers get the W, but he really should be averaging 16 and 8 on the road to help this team get over the hump.

No not Jarrett Jack
That guy was a turnover specialist in his Blazer playing days. He does seem to be playing pretty solid these days from what I have seen. His numbers seem to be pretty good. I always liked how he penetrated in the paint. I love point guards like that more than ones that hang out on the 3 point line.

LaMarcus has had some of his best games playing against Timmy Duncan
So I’ll toss in a LMA gambit.
I’ll say he scores 33.
Gerald Brings It Tonight
I’m expecting Mr. Wallace to bring his “force” tonight. Something tells me he’s a little motivated to stop (or at least decrease) the reports of him not being his usual energetic self during road games. So he may be wanting to put those negative views aside against the Spurs.
However, if he does “sleep walk” through the game, he should be pulled and someone else needs to step up to keep the positive energy going. That shouldn’t be all on Gerald’s shoulders every game. Other folks can bring their “force”, too.
I think the odds makers are putting San Antonio to win by at least 1 point.
We$
the lack of Ginobili really shows tonight with We$ scoring 25+ points and the PDX 2 guards outscoring SA 2 guards by at least 15 points.
the truth hurts. fox news is painless
