Gameday Open Thread: Magic vs. Blazers (Second Half)

After an awful first half, the Blazers are very lucky to only trail by 12. Can the Blazers close the gap and steal a big win? Will Orlando hit 30 or more three pointers? Hang out here and discuss the second half. -- Tim

Batum is having a good game.

I loved that pump fake and drive to hit the easy open midrange jumper, just a very smart move to get a higher percentage bucket during a time when we desperately needed some points.

The smarter you are, the more likely you are to be tripping balls at any given moment.

Well said.

But this was not so for Brandon Roy who listened to teammate Nicolas Batum, "You're an All-Star, a 3-time All-Star. Take the ball. They can't stop you. You just have to believe in yourself."

generally what happens with a furious 4th quarter rally

teams run out of gas, and eventually the other team is bound to stem the tide. Teams can often come most of the way back, but it’s actually pretty rare to come all the way back

so

this year’s teams’ bugaboo appears to be slow apathetic starts that quickly steamroll into large deficits.

actually annoys me more that we can flip the switch in the 4th like that.

It's the Clippers all over again

Play 3 quarters or trash and try to make up for it in the 4th. Not gonna be a top seeded team and win a lot of games playing like that.
