Prada: Aldridge Was "Essentially Keith Van Horn" Before Star Turn
Mike Prada of SBNation.com sings the praises of Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who he argues deserves the title of "superstar."
--------------------------
For three years, Aldridge put up the same decent, but unremarkable numbers. He hadn't broken out, nor had he become a spectacular draft failure that people would talk about for years. He was essentially Keith Van Horn, who had a very solid 10-year career but still left a lingering feeling of disappointment everywhere he went because he was merely "pretty good" as a No. 2 overall pick.
...
Aldridge provides versatility that makes everything easier. On offense, very few players can post-up, run pick and roll and shoot from the perimeter. Aldridge can do all of those things. According to Synergy Sports, Aldridge is the 25th-most efficient post-up player in the league and the fourth-most efficient player in pick and roll situations. Throw in the fact that he shoots 50 percent from 16-23 feet -- traditionally the least efficient area on the floor -- and he's capable of doing pretty much anything offensively. Defensively, Aldridge is capable of locking down the league's best power forwards, can switch to cover centers in small lineups and is one of the few big men that won't make a coach cringe when he's forced to switch and defend a guard.

What a good article
I finished reading it, refreshed home page and there it was bumped to the top. LMA is a superstar in every sense of the word.

Love LMA..
Class act. His team mates love him. And I think he has stepped up as a leader. A collaborative leader.
Plus LA is agood locker room guy, not a huge ego.
LA face of the franchise!
Somebody step up! - Mike Rice
I kept getting "stuff" from my friends for rooting for LA during the L@ker game
None the less, I love rooting for the guy. I find his demeanor refreshing since most players of his caliber come with an ego/attitude. The whole is greater than the sum of it’s parts.
LMA epitomizes versatility - yet still has some elite skills
Jack of all skills, and the master of some….

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.
It's a pretty rare occurrence
But I really feel Ben capture the essence of that article with the title of the fanshot.
I agree. But the pick and roll? Might he mean the pick and pop?
I’m still waiting on this promised(?) two man game with Felton.
definite stretch comparing kvh to lma but
It was worth the read. For the record tho kvh had a killer 3 pt shot and tapered off after a hot start to his career, whereas lma has built on each seasonm is far superior athletically and actually has a post game. In other words you can’t really compare the two at all.
