Blazers Still "Hopeful" That Season Will Start On Time

The Portland Trail Blazers sent out an email blast regarding 11-game ticket packages on Thursday afternoon. The message included the following message about the ongoing labor talks. ----------------------- We are hopeful that a new Collective Bargaining Agreement will be reached prior to the start of the 2011-12 season and that games will commence on schedule. ----------------------- Further details on tickets here. Representatives from both the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association met on Wednesday and Thursday in New York City to continue work on a new CBA. Additional meetings are scheduled for next week. The two sides agree that there is still sufficient time to reach a resolution prior to the scheduled start of the 2011-2012 season. Ken Berger of CBSSports.com has a full rundown on the talks here. Henry Abbott of TrueHoop.com says the meetings produced some cause for optimism. -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
