Jaynes: Bill Bayno's Departure Sends Bad Message

Reacting to a report that former Portland Trail Blazers assistant coach Bill Bayno is joining Rick Adelman's staff with the Minnesota Timberwolves because the Blazers refused to offer him more than a one-year contract, Dwight Jaynes writes on CSNNW.com that the situation sends a bad message about the entire organization. ---------------------------- Good organizations treat their coaching staffs like gold. In fact, they treat all their employees well. But here we are in Portland, without a general manager and in no apparent rush to find one, giving valued assistants one-year deals, even when they've been offered four years by another team. Wow. What kind of commitment to excellence is that? ---------------------------- -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
