Galletti: Blazers Rank As No. 5 NBA Playoff Team

Arturo Galletti of Wages Of Wins ranks the 2010-2011 NBA playoff teams based on margin of victory. The Portland Trail Blazers finished No. 5 out of the 16 teams, trailing only the Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder and Chicago Bulls. Galletti concludes: "The Blazers were very, very, very unlucky with their draw." Henry Abbott of TrueHoop.com reacts... --------------------- Revisiting the playoffs, and using average margin of victory and opposition to rank the team's performances, the Mavericks were the best, of course. But by that measure, the Heat, Thunder, Bulls and Blazers rounded out the top five. The story is the Blazers were unlucky to have faced the Mavericks, but I wonder if for the purposes of this analysis, the opposite is true. They got to put up decent numbers against the champs before they got their sea legs, which boosted their rankings. --------------------- -- Ben Golliver | benjamin.golliver@gmail.com | Twitter
